I fully understand. The boys and I are are making pancakes with bacon for dinner. It will be all I can do to see that the human Shop-Vacs leave something for me to photograph while I am setting the table.

We dirtied the Friday fried rice up a little this week. In addition to the fake crab, Teriyaki pork and little low sodium soy sauce in the rice. Am getting better at this each week.

Well we took a small chunk of pot roast out of the freezer and I peeled 4 or 5 taters...peeled 6 nice carrots. Cut up a good sized onion Little garlic salt and pepper. Couple cans Beef broth. Into the oven. I'm gonna make me some lemonade to go with it. Talked to momma about a couple loves of homemade bread for tomorrow...gonna make me a big ol pot of chili...I might even have me 1/2 a beer to go with that chili

Easter dinner will be late tonight. Ruthie told me to get down the bassinet sized pan for the spiral ham but it was not there. Ruthie had loaned it to our youngest daughter and they are not home.
Ruthie is at Wally World purchasing another.
JR told her to stop by McDonald's and grab him some McNuggets. What a kid.

My youngest makes a pineapple upside down cake that is pure decadence on a plate.
I may have to pull rank.
Edited to add that my daughter makes hers in a cast iron skillet. She says it adds to the gooey, crusty goodness.

The other morning, I was told that we needed a warmer center in the Ham this year;
and not to be so skimpy on the slices, so.........
Here you go and the slices were around 1/2" thick, except for jut a few tailing sections at the end of my carving session.
I did save the bone with some meat on it for beans, in a few days.
Hope your April, goes well.

Ham help.
We have several tried and true dishes for leftover ham (split pea soup, casseroles, frittatas and such like). I could scour the web for new ideas/recipes but I want first taste bud experiences from you foodies.
Whatcha got?

Ham salad on white bread works for me.
Dukes mayo, onion, pickle relish and mustard to start.
You can go sweet, hot, horseradish I like but MsNative finds it off putting. Something for everyone can be made.

The wife just surprised me at 11 PM with a strawberry shortcake. Yum.
With a little leftover green coloring from Easter eggs, try yourself some green eggs and ham.

Break out the mandoline and make scalloped potatoes and ham. Multiple layers of thin sliced potatoes, ham, onion, grated cheese, a little flour, some black pepper and a pat or two of butter. Add milk, cover and bake at 375F for about 90 minutes. Yum!
Or...
Chicken Cordon blue...
Or...
Ham and pineapple pizza...
Or...
Ham, swiss and zucchini quiche...
Fried ham and cheese sandwiches are also a favorite of mine!

Any time we have bone in ham (like we did on Easter) I look forward to the soup. We’ll leave about a pound of ham on the bone and just add about 4 big cans of beans n extra water to a big crock pot. Note that my wife does NOT allow peas in the house.
Carefully picking a nice cold ugly day to fill the house with the wonderful smells. Add some French bread and this simple meal is one of my favorites!

Dice up some ham into 1/4" chunks...Add to scrambled eggs with milk, fresh ground pepper, diced onions and maybe diced potatoes...
