"Reality TV" shows
i only watch Network Tv for NFL games, and every time I do, I'm amazed at how much of this **** is still there.
I can't imagine wasting my time with this drivel...

I watch a lot of the "Reality shows". I like Life below zero, Booked, first day in, Mountain Men, Interrogation raw, live PD and others. I quit watching the obviously scripted nonsense like Duck Dynesty, Pickers and Pawn Stars.

Every gun program the history channel aired were frauds. Just about the equal of Jerry Springer with Guns. I loved Pawn Stars when their policy was if antique gun could fire they would by it. Their experts are also a fraud.

My reality show is at the gun club. It's gotta be real; you just can't make it up!

We watched Alone but after it became obvious that it was just a starving contest we quit watching.
One of the contestants (Jordan Jonas) is active on social media, he says they "misrepresented" him on his season. I watched the season and they made it sound like he was within days of starving to death and he said when they came to tell him that he won he still had 300 lb of meat left.
My wife watches cooking shows. There's a channel that plays almost exclusively Tom Selleck westerns that were made from Louis L'Amour books I watch that

I rue the day that MTV came out with "The Real World" and started all of the airwaves/cable signals on the downward slide known as "reality TV". I also miss the days when MTV did just that, play music.

I refuse to pay for cable tv, all a bunch of made up garbage. Have a OTA antenna and get news( very few I watch) and a lot of old tv shows from 50s-70s, good enough for me ,oh and there is the “ weather guessers” channel too.

I haven’t watched network TV since 2008. I never watched much TV anyway. I would like to find a news station that reports the news, period.
You can watch things in real time on Cspan then flip to News on major network and get 18o degree off from actual

Nothing is more scripted than a dang professional sports game. How a 60-minute game can stretch out to 3-1/2 hours is beyond me.

Dr. Pol and Dr. Oakley are about it. For sheer weirdness, Dr. Pimple Popper fills the bill.

There is a news program I have watched a few times on the internet called “Just The News “ that seems to be halfway decent.

The so-called "reality" (and I use that term VERY loosely) shows I have seen make Jerry Springer look like Masterpiece Theatre.
I have to put up with weird and abnormal stuff at work but at least I get paid for it there.
I do NOT want to watch it on TV when I come home.

They used to stretch them out so that they could sell advertising time. That was bad enough but now it's that and to give people time to get their Fan Duel bets in. Professional sports has been prostituted beyond recognition. Now they are working on college sports. And if they get their way, you will be able to gamble on your kids little league game.
Any "reality" show where they are fixing things and using tools will get my limited attention. I like The Last Alaskans. For some reason, those people seem genuine to me. Sometimes I have the one where the wreckers are cleaning up tractor trailer accidents playing in the background while I'm working on the computer. I can't think of the name of it. For some reason it seems calming to me.

You can't get away from the commercials for reality shows no matter what you are watching. Each one of them makes me shed a tear for the future.

Television programing today for the most part, is total **** .More commercials than actual programs .
Don't watch much tv anymore , except the oldie western and comedy shows, some sports, and "local news" only.
Pretty much the same thing goes with movies as well. Been 10 years or more since I went to the movie theater, and don't think I missed much, lol !

I love reality TV. My reality: Pick a show, any show. Sit on couch, place remote on coffee table. Nap time. Always a happy ending. Joe

It's like "you have to be this stupid to watch this show"

Does Gold Rush qualify as reality tv? If it's as being displayed, I appreciate the really hard work these men and women are doing.

I can't imagine wasting my time watching the NFL, or even more boring, the NBA, or Soccer. At least I don't get nearly as frustrated watching football as I do basketball. I would rather watch curling than basketball or soccer. A friend of mine's 3 sons ALL played soccer, and he was estatic when it was finally over with. He was and is a great dad, but even he admitted going to all those soccer games was torture.
One of my other friend's daughter was reluctant to get her driver's license, but it was made clear that she would be going nowhere, unless she walked or rode her bike, or drove herself. She was doing all kinds of stuff in school, soccer, tennis, some dancing class (As her grandpa said in private, "She stinks!") And she worked at a pet supply store a couple of days a week. 12 years of all that stuff, even if it wasn't all done during the same age, got really old.
If you can't find something good on TV at this point, give it up, between the movies, some are very good, lots are bad, as was always, the scripted shows like Breaking Bad and others, some of the reality shows, and some of the documentaries, there are a lot of great things on TV, which IMHO, is the best it's ever been in my 67+ years.

Life is too short to waste on such mindless drivel. I prefer to spend my valuable time surfing the internet and engaging in substantive, meaningful conversation about mindless drivel.

A friend of mine worked for the Screen Writers Guild (their union) and told me that every “reality” show is scripted even the ones you think wouldnt be such as the game warden shows etc.
My wife watches “swamp people” and shouts at the TV “shoot em” but they can’t until all the camera angles are perfect and the muzzle blast from the .22 has to splash up gallons of water all over them ……. Please …..

The NFL and especially...the NBA is nothing but a whole bunch of overpaid almost uneducated Hoodlums that throw catch and bounce balls...Even baseball has a bunch of the same. Those games are the modern version of the Roman Coliseum put on to keep the masses unconcerned about the state of their government and the world...but the Romans had lions and hoodlums with swords and other deadly instruments...blood and gore to keep the masses satisfied. Real blood and gore. People like the WWE? and MMA fighting...heck boxing these days isn't even the same. Then we have the Reality fishing and hunting shows. Just remember...if it is a so called reality show of any kind...it ain't reality....And holy cow...they even sensationalized the freaking WEATHER....all in the name of advertising and making money...and they only get it right maybe on a good day...30-35% of the time...Airbombs or storm bombs or whatever. Good Grief. They had to invet names for everyday weather occurrences...OK...soapbox put away...Rant over

I rather enjoy the Tow Truck shows that are on the cable weather channel. They are out of Canada. For sure a lot of reality there! When 18 wheedlers or two 18s yoked together crash there is a lot to do pulling the equipment back on the road and then on a trailer to remove.
I in the past helped out a bit with a car (light duty tow truck) work. That and working most of my life with cranes and doing a lot of rigging I can appreciate a lot of what I see on those shows. Of course as it is Canada much of the weather is very nasty when the tow trucks are out doing their thing!

It's all part of the"dumbing down" of America. People on cell phones 24/7, "selfie obsessions", legalized drugs, crime without consequences, and of course, those housewives shows. People are just drawn to this stuff as when Springer first came out. Outside of my own life, reality is a **** shoot at best.

We should all ask ourselves if we would rather see the weather report delivered by a monotone geek in glasses who really knew his stuff, or a good looking young woman who pointed in a general direction and told us how cold it was.
Marketing has taken over too much of our lives while we idly sit by.

Yes. I've been watching one lately called "Highway to Hell" out of British Columbia. Lotsa serious wrecks with dangerous recovery involved. Those are some tough guys.
