not mine but a gent will trade it for partial payment of my item.

I know if a handgun version I would be all for it, but I have a Deftec 8rd 37mm already(dont ask), so no real "need" for it besides it being a S&W

I dunno, but will that stock fit on a model 29?
That'd be pretty cool, if slightly illegal.

I work as an RO for the annual police match in the near major city.

Last year, I had one of those on my stage. The shooter had to hit a USPSA sized target at ~20 yards with a training round. The round was hard foam with a polymer base. As I recall, it shoots a 40mm projectile.

Great fun!

Now I have to have one of those, as I have one round of S&W 37mm muzzle dispertion riot agent C6 in my cartridge collection

They are no longer made by S&W. It was based on the "N" but was not an interchangeable stock.

guess on value? rarity?

this one looks like one of the cheanest gas guns I have seen(most are beat to poop)

There was one Posted here a while back, maybe a Years and it was priced at $350. and just set for several days and was dropped to $275. and if I had had the Dollar$$ it would have come to live here. They actually came as part of a Kit in a suitcase kind of thing with several gas cartridges if I remember correctly and with all the goodie the do bring a few more Dollar$$ but they would need to go to a Police Collector like me to fine someone with much interest.

JoeSalter.com has one listed for $895.00
about 25 years ago, there was one at a gun show for $125.00, I tried to sell the vendor the one cartridge I have, he didnt buy and I didnt either. it is a curiosity item, no practicle use.

didnt need this either

KKG, sometimes my buddy gets in complete gas gun kits, in the old big boxes with all the stuff, none have been S&W however. think the last batch came from the Seattle PD, as most have gone to 40mm. If any interest let me know.

So prolly really not much more than another 37mm gas gun, which sell for $200-300 used

If I had one of the S&W Gas guns, I would be real tempted to machine up a .22 single shot barrel and extension and make myself a ".22 Single Shot, 5th Model"

I wonder how those things are recorded, rifle, pistol or AOW? Probably AOW.

I like the old S&W Gas Guns but I'd guess that some of that had to do with the fact that I had one issued to me for a while. Other than in "practice/training" I never got to use one.

I had an M-79 that road with me in my jeep in the RVN but once the Army was stupid enough to adopt the M-203 several of the more useful rounds of ammo were dropped. Some simply wouldn't fit in the M-203 and others had enough "Poop" to them that they would damage the "New and Crummier" M-203. They were fixing something that wasn't broken and I got lots of requests from Grunts to remove the M-203s and see if I could get them an M-79. I always tried to help out with this sort of thing.

I could find a "home" for the Smith Gas gun but it would have to be at the "Right or Trade" price range right now. I just filled another "Hole" in my Stash by picking up a M0del 29-no Dash in the nice long 8-3/8" barrel that is 98-99% but without the box etc.

afaik, the long gun 37mm are just like a flare gun, no paper required
