Animals you currently possess - I'm into black dogs
For fun, let's see what you've got. Not what you had, I could do that and take a very long time and show a lot of black dogs plus a few other animals but I'm sticking to current events. My current black dogs:
Morticia - 10 years old - - she spent 18 months at the local SPCA and was so cantankerous - not to mention timid and unadoptable - that they gave her that "Adams Family" name and I kept it:
Morticia is the big one in front of the fireplace. We're not counting the other dog.
Midnight - 1 year old - the shelter she was at had that name on her so I kept it because I really liked it:

Angel the crazy German and Snow the White Rabbit. Baby Bambi behind the shed. Angel turned two one month ago, Snow is probably 5 or 6 now. The fawn is still around.
They aren’t black but they identify as whatever gives them the most cash in their monthly checks.
Midnight looks pretty cool!

This is Copper. She's been my mountain companion for nearly 10 years now and is the sweetest mule I've ever had.

Down to 1 cat now. Matilda, found her as a kitten 5 years ago on the wrong side of the tracks downtown. A sweetheart. Not sure who possesses whom.

I presently serve as staff for 6 cats.
Loki
Odin

Lzzy
Willis
And last but not least,

They are all rescues, and I'm leaving next week to move from Maine to Arizona and will spent about 10 days in an RV with these guys. Should be interesting!

Kelly & Luna
My two female German Shepherds, Kelly and Luna are a bright shinning light in my life. Kelly is age 6 (first photo) and Luna age 2 1/2 (second photo). Kelly, we bought from a local ranch (horses, cattle, and dogs) breeder at age 9 weeks. Both are AKC registered. Luna was a rescue from a military family at age 11 months. She had a number of medical/behavior issues at first but has become a very loving member of the family. They are by my side 24/7 and I could not think of a time without them. They are loyal, loving, protective and fearless. Luna and I have bonded closely and she sleeps at my bedroom door. They are great with kids and family members. We live in a remote area and feel safe with these ladies who are on duty, always! PS. The date on the photos is wrong, photos are recent.

This is my best friend Colt. I’ve helped raise him since he was born. My wife breeds Golden Doodles, so I was able to be there for him starting so early.

I got a duck. Last year's Easter present for my grandson. Damn thing won't die. Craps everywhere and the wife loves it. She named it Quackers.

My exact feelings about this "free" rabbit my daughter brought home. I would've named him "Hasenpfeffer!"

Animals you currently possess - I'm into black dogs
I usually have a cat and a dog. My last dog died 1 1/2 years ago and a very young cat and her kitten showed up at my back door last fall. I was planning to take them to a shelter, but the old cat didn’t mind so I now have three cats
Max,the baby
Her ma,Smokey,showing off her scar
Fig,the queen

The white and tan guy is Bronco. I got him from a rescue about 5 years ago. He was very young when I got him and don't know what he went through before he was rescued but he is the most neurotic cat I've ever had. It took almost a year of working with him before he would allow me to pick him up to hold and love on him.
The little grey guy is Linus. He is about 10 months old and I got him thru some friends about 7 months ago. He is one of the most loving cats I've ever had. He loves everybody he meets. He is also a chow hound and I have to crate him at feeding time to keep him from eating his food and Bronco's food.

16 year old human [granddaughter] who is so far drama free. Drags us happily to musical and sporting events. Has a decent clothing budget but is not into cheap junk.
15 year old human [grandson] with expensive tastes in food, football, basketball and track shoes along with football gloves, sleeves and leggings. Tends to be very particular about hair, brand names and struggles with math, especially when given a budget.

For some reason I can't upload pics to post. So we no longer have dogs. But we do have 3 cats that allow us to live in their house. All three have disabilities and were rescued Oldest is Blackie a black cat that wandered up to the house all torn up and next to starved. Either a coyote had him or he had been in a fight with a coon. The nurse fixed him. The 2nd is a kind of tabby the nurse brought home one day eyes still closed she found on the street...She nursed it to adulthood and as my wife says she's psycho. Her name Ruby Begonia. You older guys may recognize that name and the 3rd is another black cat that was either kicked or stepped on by a cow/horse. Max was Skinny as a rail and while mobile has a real hitch to his back-end. Nurse Zee my wife fixed him up too. We had a Kestrel that fell out of the nest we rescued...flew around the house greeted people but we gave it to the local raptor rescue group.

I was a teenager a long time ago. I can say for sure that back then any math showing that I couldn't afford something was treated as incorrect by definition.

I don't have any animals, but I do stay with a dog that allows us to take care of his every need. His name is T'Fred (Little Fred). He lets us stay because we scratch bellies reasonably well and give him cheese occasionally.

Do grand-dogs count?
This is what happens when an extremely patient male Labrador allows his little human sister to have her way with him. He's dressed up for the tea party.

We only adopted black cats and have given up serving their whims now that the last one died and my wife's allergies have all but gone. I miss them especially the one that thought he was a dog and was always so happy to see me.

Penelope has been with us for almost 12 years. She was a rescue, not even weaned when we got her. Boxer/Lab mix, maybe a little Pit Bull, not sure. She has the Lab's coat and the sweetest disposition but will play as rough as you want.
Apollo is my daughter's dog but he spends a lot of time here. He's 3-1/2 and is a smooth coat Border Collie, also a rescue (off the streets of Miami FL). He and Penelope are BFF's. Apollo is smart as a whip and probably the fastest dog I've ever been around, loves to play ball.

Lucy and Daisy, our first small dogs. These maniacs hunt squirrels and try very hard to chase bears. Brave but not very smart.

And yes, that’s Daisy up a tree. Where she chased the squirrels. And the bear.

Of my aforementioned herd 4 of them are black.
If I were superstitious I would never leave my room.

Down to one
I am down to one toy Aussie, Luna, who also answers to Petunia. Her mom, Gracie, lived to 14, but had to be put down a few years ago. Luna is 14 now. She lost her left eye a few years ago trying to herd a pitbull. Three years ago she had the lens removed from her right eye. It had “anteriorly luxated” and was blocking drainage.
When Gracie was alive, she was the princess, and Luna lived in her shadow. Now Luna has come into her own, having outlived the competition.

There are other beasties around this house, but this one is mine. Goldendoodle.
I don’t know why he fell 90 degrees forward.
