Yeah. And it is "ham radio operator" not "Canadian bacon operator," no matter what the Canadian Amateur Broadcasters Union says.

In the 1980's, we were sailing in British Columbia waters and went into a grocery store in Sidney. We asked the meat man if he had any Canadian Bacon and he said that all of his bacon was Canadian.

My question is what do Canadians call American Bacon? Looking on the 'net I find American, Canadian and English as various types, but the only name for what we call bacon seems to be referred to as "streaky bacon" because of the streaks from the muscle and fat layers in the belly meat. There is nothing though to indicate where the term streaky bacon is used! I have never heard that term until searching the 'net in response to reading this thread!
As to methods of cooking bacon I prefer frying but have used the micro-wave and really don't see any issue with that. Restaurants typically cook bacon in the oven as it can be controlled very consistently and with little labor that pan frying takes.
I cannot stand anything made from Turkey! , especially ground, it smells like feathers when cooking, and tastes the same to me, really! I concur with others observations that "if it isn't from pigs it isn't pork, whether bacon, ham, ground meat, etc.

Is this a psychiatric question on the plate? Who the heck is Bob?
To me, American bacon is called Oscar-Meyer.

I instantly recognized Ike Broflovski even without your glaring hint in your OP.
Shoulda let the comedically challenged ponder.

True...but, from a guy who has raised pigs, it's not bacon. It's from the pork loin whereas what Americans call bacon is from the pork belly. Bottom line...they're both delicious.
