I have a 3 season porch and like to sit and drink a cup of joe early in the morning and let the dog out.I enjoy listening to music sitting there so i think ii will get a blue tooth speaker and be able to listen to the music from the computer in the basement 27 ft distant.Looking at BOSE Sound Link flex speakers Anyone had any experience with these things and with blue tooth

I have plenty of experience with Bluetooth speakers.

The quality of sound nowadays, from a little BT (BlueTooth) speaker, is mind boggling for those of us who are, um, well seasoned?

Do you want a lot of great sound with volume (which I think means no neighbors nearby), or something more discreet, convenient, that sounds pretty good?

We have three Bose BT speakers. They are excellent. Even the little monaural one has amazing sound. Not sure if your signal has to travel far, or through walls, but that’s a potential issue. We use our phones as the music source, so that’s not an issue.

I have a Bose and a Sony - they both work well. The Sony (three times the price of the Bose) is better and larger so I find myself using the Bose more often because it's just so easy to take along. I use it in the driveway and garage while detailing my cars. It works at longer distances than the ones you mentioned.

I have Sony Bluetooth speakers, 2 Bluetooth Soundbase, 3 different models, large to small.
I have 3 Vizio Bluetooth Soundbars which work well to stream music also.
I have JBL Bluetooth speakers (2) I forget the model number.
I’ve owned wired Bose Speakers, but not Bluetooth.
I stream music from my iPad or my iPhone.
I also have 3 of the Alexa Dot w/clock, latest generation, that I stream music on in my fifth wheel camper.
I have many Bluetooth speakers and for the money just to play music and be portable to move or carry, take a look at the Sony SRSXB Extra Bass Bluetooth Speaker at about $55.00 per speaker. Buy two of them, pair them, enjoy stereo music, they really sound good. I like the little Sony’s so well I bought pairs for my 3 grandkids.

Here are a couple of ideas for you:

I have purchased three of these devices, one for me and one for both of my two brothers. Rechargeable. I like them for travel. Three years ago they were $15. Range is listed at 10 meters, or 33 feet. I was amazed at the sound for such a tiny device:

This is an Amazon Alexa device called a Dot. It's about the size of a softball. There are several versions. Works by both WiFi and/or BlueTooth. Plugs into the wall. As a speaker, the sound quality is pretty astounding for such a small device. You can also use it (or not) for all the other stuff Alexa does, e.g., news and weather, phone calls, and what have you. (This is listed in Amazon Warehouse, where they have returned and refurbished goods. I always check there first, because I have yet to have a problem with any Amazon refurbished items, they are usually a good deal cheaper than new, and, if for some reason you don't like it, same no fuss return guarantees.)

Here's Sophie's Sony speaker in Amazon Warehouse:

Inexpensive speaker quality is simply amazing these days.

Get the Bose system, money no object and you'll thank me later.
Enjoy many a cigars and coffee on my 4 season porch serenaded by smooth tunes via blue tooth.

I bought an Alexa Echo Dot for my wife's room. It runs off Wi Fi, so it has a pretty good range, and an amazing sound for such a small device. I like that I can run it with simple voice commands to hear or stop anything I want.

Hey Walt, I listen to SiriusXM thru an old phone with a currently unavailable IPX7 from Amazon for 6-7 years at a cost in the $20's. Dangling from a golf cart tooling around the poop plant it's been bounced around and rained upon, adequate sound and good battery life to this day. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
That said my wife uses a JBL Go also available from Amazon for under $40. She's had it for several years mostly in a child care facility so Lord knows the beating it's taken. Both speakers sound fine within a limited (10-15 ft.) range at less than full volume.
I've always admired Bose but most of these responses are like asking which vehicle should I buy and being told "Ford!" and having to comeback with Focus or F-450? Gas or diesel? Electric?

There are apps for checking bluetooth signal strength. If the location you wish to put the speakers is beyond the signal, consider wifi, which has a longer reach, instead. Bluetooth is nothing more than a radio signal and a very weak one at that. Typical range can be as short as 25 feet without any walls in the way.

Yup. Bluetooth is very short range. I, too, think you would be too far away for a good signal. Forget about advertised "maximum range." That is way optimistic under ideal conditions. You'll be lucky to get a connection more than 15 feet away.
