Default Zenni optical

Need some new glasses. Anybody use Zenni? Good, bad, indifferent? Cost is most important and they seem reasonable.

I have several pairs of them for shooting and working. I have found them to be of good quality with very good service. No problems over years.

My gf has bought her glasses from Zenni for several years and had been very happy with them. Delivery has been quick. They are made you-know-where of course, which is why the prices are good. The customer reviews on their website are useful.

I got a couple of pairs several years ago and while the optics were good, one of the frames didn't last. And now they can't fill my current prescription so I've switched to Costco.

BTW, a decade ago, Lesley Stahl did a CBS 60 Minutes segment entitled, "Sticker Shock: Why are Glasses so Expensive?" It's still available online and it is, to coin a phrase, a real eye opener. (Keywords: Luxottica, Optical Mafia )

Good quality and service. Turnaround is a couple of weeks.

My Gina was happy with hers - inexpensive and worked fine. (Then she went and got cataract surgery and - well, I'm glad they were cheap.) Her brother was the one who turned her on to them and he seems to have a new pair every time I see him (I'm not kidding), so he's clearly happy with them.

I bought a number of pairs from them. The frames seemed of lower quality and broke prematurely. I switched to eyebuydirect.com and have been happier with the frame quality.

I have bought 20 pair +/- from Zenni over almost the last decade.

Quality varies - I have some frames that broke twice but was able to swap lenses into new frames, some other lenses have clouded up in the course six months, and some frames have finish flake off in a matter of months.

That said, they’re cheap, often stylish and I usually get a pair for one-third the cost of my eye doctor and the frames will generally last half as long as name brand, optometrist offices.

At $40 for a single vision pair, I have bought a pair or two just for costume parties. It is also nice to have a dedicated pair of prescription sunglasses in each car.

My beautiful wife buys her glasses from Warby Parker. The Warby Parker style is maybe more trendy and the website more refined, but I don’t know the quality is any better.

I bought 3 pair of prescription sun glasses from Zenni. That was around 5 years ago, still going strong.

I like how you can upload a picture of yourself to see how the glasses will look on you.

I have used them for several years and think they are good. The frames seem to be lower quality than other places but the price: $85.00 for progressives is hard to beat. I should point out that of all the glasses I've gotten from them only one frame has failed. I ordered their more expensive frames the last time and they are very high quality. Zenni also gives a discount to veterans.
I got a free pair from the VA last year and those frames weren't any better than Zenni's.
My daughter uses eyebuydirect and I think their frames are better, but more expensive than Zenni.

Thanks for all the info, guys. See my glasses were 7 years old, and the last 3 they'd been held together with super glue. Now that I can afford to replace them, I am.
First, because it's been 7 years, I need an eye exam. Well, I went to America's Best for their exam and 2 pair of glasses for $79.95. The only thing is, it takes 2 weeks and I can't wait that long. I actually got ten dollars off, too. So, the whole thing was $69.95. So I got the exam, ordered my glasses and then took my prescription home. I looked at Zenni and eyebuydirect which was a suggestion from an earlier post. I studied the websites and even watched some youtube comparison videos. In the end I chose to order from eyebuydirect. Both because it seemed most were telling me that while more expensive, the frames were better quality, and they had the fastest shipping.
Upshot is that I have a pair of glasses coming from them. Should be here Tuesday. Cost? About the same as the whole exam and 2 pairs deal from America's Best. Hopefully they are better.
Again, thanks for the information. It really helped.
