Default Secret Service movies

Since so much interest has been raised about the Secret Service and its roles, just for entertainment and fun I suggest the following two films:

"To Live and Die in L.A." which was cowritten by a retired SS agent and covers the SS duties in fighting counterfeit money.

"Guarding Tess" which is just pure fun, probably some realism and then Hollywood hokium. Did know an Illinois state police officer who was on protective duty with a governor's wife. This film hit home with me about his experiences with her.

Yes, one of my favorites. It does bring up the "failures" of the SS regarding JFK. Of course, another neat one is "Absolute Power," again an Eastwood film.

I think it was in making "In the Line of Fire" an agent told Eastwood that the agents' trotting along beside the limo is just eye candy and really not much they can do.

Great film. A few good twists & turns.
And you can't go wrong when Wang Chung sings the theme song....

My DVD copy of "In the Line of Fire" has a special feature detailing how it was made with the cooperation and assistance of the Secret Service.

To Live and Die in LA is a good movie but not available for streaming. Great car chase that Billy Friedkin competed 2ith his own stellar chase from French Connection.

Suddenly. The president is coming to town. To Suddenly, Arizona or maybe California. Suddenly is a small town out in the southwest somewhere anyway.

Frank Sinatra and his guys claim they are secret service there to protect the president, but actually they're a gang of assassins.

Sinatra pulled "Suddenly" from the market after JFK was slain.
