Apparently Burger King has a contest every so often for a new Whopper. They must get a bunch of suggestions and pare them down to 3 choices. I saw a commercial for them today, and am going right now to give one a try. Here is the commercial:

Burger King no longer sells Whoppers.

The little teensy things selling for $7 are what is better know to many as a slider.

It isn't just Burger King. Jumbo Jacks have shrunk so much that even Rodney must be ashamed . . .

Well, I’m reporting back. I ended up deciding to try the Fried Pickle Ranch one. Why did I make this decision you may ask? Because the normal way that I order my regular Whopper is no tomatoes and heavy pickles, and I like it a lot. I also LOVE fried pickles, and Ranch is my favorite salad dressing.

I’d rate the sandwich a 5 out of 10. I wasn’t really impressed. The only thing that somewhat saved this Whopper was the bacon. As it turns out, I didn’t even know that the one I chose had bacon on it. I decided not to do any research before going to Burger King other than watching the short commercial above. That was definitely a mistake. There are just quick glances of the different burgers with no real list of ingredients. The fried pickles had been cooked earlier, how much earlier I don’t know, but they picked them out of one of the plastic bins in their line of condiments that the sandwich maker chooses from. They definitely weren’t hot or crispy! The Swiss cheese was just ok. The Ranch dressing did nothing for the burger. Like I said, the bacon is the only thing that made the Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper edible. VERY DISAPPOINTED! Just give me my regular Whopper Burger King. BTW, supposedly, the creator of the winning Whopper makes one million dollars!

Nothing new there that I need....or want for that matter. BK seems to be swirling toilet bowl here. I used to enjoy a whopper...They no longer really have one

I can't afford to eat at Burger King any longer, you must be live'n high on the hog these days? lol

20 piece McNugget at McDonald’s is $9.99 now. That’s 50 cents a nugget! Can’t afford to eat at any of these places anymore. On the flip side, got a really nice Manhattan during happy hour at the 801 Chophouse bar for $11 the other day. Usually $15 - $17 most places. More Manhattans, fewer nuggets - my plan going forward.

Just about 17yrs ago, My pregnant wife told me, I want a whopper.
My response was “Honey, let’s go to Houston’s or Flanagan’s. They have fantastic burgers there.”
She said “Nope”.
I want Burger King.
So, I took her to a Burger King.
She ordered a Whopper, fries and a sprite.
After eating her meal.
She bloated out a huge burp.
And then she said, “yep that’s why I wanted a whopper.

Looks like it should be called the 'Heart-Stopper Whopper.' Yech!

Yeah, if you eat one every day!!

A once-in-awhile fast food sammich ain't gonna kill you. Eating **** in excess is the problem.

Regardless, it's all about heredity. If you father and grandfather had heart disease you're gonna get it too, no matter what you do.

I've pretty much given up on the local BK. Stopped by about a month ago to get a quick supper from the drive thru. After waiting in line for 25 minutes and still had two cars ahead of me, i pulled out of line and left. I won't be back.
When in the big city, Culvers gets our money for a great burger and fantastic frozen custard......and quick service.

That 20 piece McNugget deal would feed both my wife and I, probably with some left over.

I met a guy in Marion ,Ohio that worked on overhead doors in a plant there where they make McNuggets for McDonalds. His description of the process cured me from the urge to ever try them.

When I worked for a living my last twelve years in building maintenance I used to pack a lunch except in the building where we had a "roach coach" come in at lunch that usually had something worth eating or when I was out working on Wednesday I always hit Burger King for Whopper Wednesday. Two Whoppers for an early lunch and I was good for the rest of the day. I've been retired for over twelve years and have not eaten at BK since, I do not eat fast food with exception to getting a Taco Time Jones about every six months or so when I have to get an order of Mexi Fries and a couple meat/bean burritos...the last time it nearly cost me a $20 bill.

If those are fries on those, too, they stole that idea from Primante Bros. here in PGH.
Heart Stopper Combo, please, with a diet Coke.

No fries on any of the new Whoppers. I believe what looks like fries on each one is fried pickles, Frito type chips, and fried onions.

It definitely wasn’t cheap, and I can’t do it often. I have heard that Applebees has a delicious huge hamburger or huge chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink for $10. It looks to be much better and has great reviews, around here anyway, and is cheaper than the Whopper meal I got. Now, if you don’t get it to go, and add a tip, you get expensive again.

50 cents a nugget is nuts, and I suppose $11 is decent for a Manhattan these days, but I can’t live on a Manhattan diet. I prefer an Old Fashioned myself. I’m older and remember the good ole days when you could go to a bar here in SC during Happy Hour and get buy one get one drinks for $5. It was also in the days of mini bottles. You would order your drink, for instance a screwdriver, and they would give you your drink and a mini bottle of vodka. After finishing your first drink, you returned to the bartender, handed them your vodka mini bottle and they would make your second drink.

had my first Whataburger ever last weekend, it really reminded me of a Whopper from about 1980.. haven't bothered with BK since I tried it once about 3 years ago..

We currently don’t have a Whataburger here, but I think they are coming within the year!👍 I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.

I nearly can't stand the smell of a BK any longer. Breakfast options, okay.
However, I mean the burgers. Besides the smell, there is all of the gristle and **** in the texture of the meat.

Give me a Quarter Pounder any day, and twice on Sunday. :D

My son used to love going to McDonald's when he was little. He'd order nuggets, eat maybe one, and go play. I tried one of his leftover nuggets once. Tasted like fried cardboard. No wonder he didn't eat them. The fries were okay, though.

I hated going there so much, that I once told him we couldn't go to McDonald's because they're closed on Thursday. Kept a straight face, too.
