Rocky Boots - Shout Out #2!
Well....my Rocky snake boots had a sole separate a few weeks ago.
So...guess I need some new ones as these are about 16 months old and they are warranted for 12 months. I train dogs daily and track our steps and these boots have nearly 1000 miles on them. I can't complain.
Last year they replaced a pair, under warranty, that had the upper ballistic material split. Great customer service. And y'all, I'm very rough on my boots! That was shout out #1.
I've never had a Rocky boot sole come apart before. I wore Rocky's my entire LEO career...so I emailed them just to let them know.
A sweetheart named Emma IMMEDIATELY answered me and said she is replacing them. Now these boots are well worn-out AND past the warranty period.
All I can say is WOW!
All I wear is Rocky, by the way...

Being in and out of wet fields, clay paths, and woods, I'm hard on my boots. So hard, that I wear out my WeatherTech floor liners in my truck with them.
I train dogs and I'm the Range Officer at our gun club too.
WeatherTech's have a lifetime warranty. One call and they send me a new set! No questions asked.
I actually feel guilty about the floor mats. But hey!
I also wear out my seat covers pretty fast. The company that makes them will not warranty them. "That's not normal use!" was their reply.
Dogs can be rough on seat covers. In fact, both of us sliding in and out of a tall truck can be.
Oh well....

Nice to have a company stand behind its product. I haven't worn boots since I retired from the AF 30-some years ago.

Like Pharman said the office is just southeast of us in Nelsonville. My dad and I went down years ago to buy boots. They are high quality, and they stand behind their products.

I always intently read hunting boot reviews. I had Lacrosse boots I wore solely for deer hunting for over 20 years. Two years ago they bit the dust so now I am on the hunt for a new set.
My issue is that I have very wide feet. 12 1/2 EEEE for sure. I have yet to find a company that offers a really wide boot. Especially with a large amount of thinsulate lining. Wonder if Rocky would consider a special order?

Some years ago, maybe 20 I bought a pair of Frye hiking boots. They say on the box bench crafted since 1863 I believe. I always figured they were USA made. Well these turned out to be Chinese made.
So I wrote to Frye and said I was disappointed to find out they were China made, and that their bench crafted since 1863 was misleading.
I got a call from the head of Customer service and she told me where to go on the website to find the USA made boots and to pick out whatever I wanted. I chose a 420.00 pair of caramel colored logger boots. She sent them to me free.
They have never been worn yet, because I have not come close to wearing out the hiking boots I complained about

I have a pair of Frye boots made in Mexico. Good quality even at their slightly lower price point.

Many years ago, back when Danner was still Danner, my father bought a pair of their boots, They were his work boots, his hunting boots, his working around the shop boots. He took great care of them, as he did all his tools, but eventually they began to leak. So, he went to the Factory Store here in town and pulled another pair off the shelf. When he got to the front of the checkout line, he jokingly told the lady he was frustrated buying new boots because his old ones leaked. She looked down at his feet. There were the old, scarred boots, with who knows how many miles on them. She asked when he bought them. "Oh, about 11 years ago." The guy behind him asked which boots they were and my dad told him. He went off to find some. The girl at the counter asked him if he would like them to repair them, free of charge. When my dad said he was just joking and he would buy the new boots, she immediately gave him half off the already discounted price. When he asked why, she said, "You just sold me one pair of boots and if that guy talks to his friends, maybe more. Plus, we would like to keep you as a loyal customer."
Those days are gone at that particular manufacturer, but there was a time.....

I have to ask, what has happened to Danner? I've been wearing Danner Sierras for years.

The usual thing that happens to a place that makes high end products. They were sold and the new owners placed more emphasis on profits than delivering a quality product and a brand name that had value. Boots of lesser quality, manufactured overseas, became the staple and less of the high quality, made in America boots were available. Not saying they don't have some good boots now, but they used to be 100% top quality.
