Short (7 1/2 min.) BBC video article here.

In the 1864, as the new art form of photography was becoming popular, someone had the forethought to trace the last living Revolutionary soldiers and photograph their portraits. This was quickly followed by a book about the veterans that same year. Now these six images hold great significance to the United States and their images are kept in the Library of Congress. But what is the real story behind each veteran and were those six men really the last Revolutionaries? Made with thanks to the Library of Congress and Don N Hagist, author of 'The Revolution's Last Men: The Soldiers Behind the Photographs'.

There is a review in The Journal of the American Revolution here. Book was written in 2015, so some of you may have read it.
