This morning I received an email from X (formerly Twitter) suspending my X account for “Inauthentic Behavior”. Only problem is that I have never had an X or a Twitter account.

I believe it is some form of scam as there is a link in the message I would not attempt to click on. Or maybe someone has created an X account in my name. Has anyone else received the same message?

Just ignore it and delete it. I have had numerous e-mails and PMs from banks, credit unions, etc. telling me they have closed my account or locked it for various reasons. I never had an account with any of them!

An alarming one I get is from allegedly - PayPal
Saying that xxx$ is being paid !

Then their is a link to click if you want to dispute

When I click reply (I dont reply - but it’s easy to see where origination is from …) it’s an obvious scam

And I just delete

I got a good one yesterday, had my full name, address, and cell phone number. Demanding $2000.00 or they would send nude pictures of me to all of my contacts and business associates. Do I need to check my shower for a hidden camera? Origin of email, Czech Republic, thru a German server.
I have until 4 PM today to pay by Bitcoin. Watch your emails for the pictures!

Twitter has done some stuff to the way it operates. I no longer go there on this computer as my security systems go to battle stations if I try. X claims that the Firefox tracking protection creates a "problem" with their site. Ahem, I think I know where the problem lies, it's with the **** they are trying to pull on their website. Bye-bye, Twitter.

I have had an "X" account for over 5 years. It is the world's town square.

I have never run afoul of their algorithms nor "Community Notes".

We get along just fine.

Just got that last week. They did know my name, first and last spelled correctly.

Every now and then I'll get an email claiming to be from Walmart asking me to verify that a several hundred dollar charge to my account for a new laptop or Playstation is legit. Of course, I've never had a Walmart account. Just ignore it.

Since the day after the election, I've been getting spam with Elon Musk's name in the header wanting me to invest in a magic power source for my home.

More commonly, notices about false charges on accounts I don't have, Microsoft account hacks, and hacks on Facebook and X, neither of which I have. Lately, a lot of spam ads that I got regularly have fallen under a single header of info(at)ZenFitness.net, which refuses to be blocked or automatically deleted via a rule. Aggravating!

I receive over 1,000 emails and text message a week.

I get about a dozen scam messages every week.

The attached link is the gimmick. I delete them.

I get a couple cell phone calls a day... All scams or telemarketing Bravo Sierra.

When I get what I believe is a legitimate call from a healthcare insurance provider, doctor's office, banks, police departments, or any frequented stores, unless I am 100% sure I know who it is, I simply say "I'm sorry, but you cannot prove who you are or your identity, so this conversation is over. If I believe it is a legitimate call, I will call the main number to the organization and ask if I was receiving any calls from their office for any reason.

My cell phone announcement is generic and does not have my voice. When I answer a call number that I'm not sure of the identity, I never say my name, just "Hello".

Ah for the good old days.
Back then it was the UPS driver, he was the go-to guy and had all of the good stuff like Irish Sweepstake tickets, various number cards and you could place bets for all the race tracks.

You never know…

I get a text or email confirming payments on my accounts (that don't exist) just about every day. It's an unpleasant byproduct of having worked near Russia, internet scam capital of the world.

You folks may not know this, but the staff has blocked/banned over 1000 spammers/scammers on the forum since Christmas. The majority are from Russia.
We're at war...

twice for inauthentic behavior, aka telling the truth
