Hooters?
Just saw a news report that the Hooters Brestaurant chain is considering taking bankruptcy. Won’t bother me. But the one close to my house seems fairly busy. Have been there exactly twice, no reason to return.

Use to enjoy them. It was a long time ago admittedly.
Lived in St Petersburg, close to the home of Hooters.
A local Hooters was close to where I worked at the time. Every couple of weeks several of us went there for lunch.
Waitresses were good looking, attentive and pleasant. Service was good and prompt, the burgers were great and beer cold. Never really been much of a fan of wings so can’t judge.
I guess it varies with location and management.
Time often takes a toll on theme restaurants. Novelty wears off, customer base declines and the quality goes downhill.
I’ve gone to one in different cities from time to time. Sadly, compared to past experiences in St Petersburg, they were all a disappointment. Less attractive waitresses, mediocre food and a generally run down atmosphere.

All restaurants close, no matter how good or bad that they are. Hooters food seemed to be good for what it is: fast Food nicely presented.

The last time I visited a Hooters was several years ago. All of the Hooters girls there were heavily tatted, That was enough to kill the experience.

We are down to one location in Vegas. I'm unsure when the one nearest me in the valley went away, but I probably ate there 20 years ago.

We used to order to-go food for the 3rd shift guys.
Many fun discussions with the Director and Accounting department about a Hooters bill.

Used to frequent them fairly often with friends. Then they got rid of the one item on their menu I liked, the ham and cheese sandwich. Was not worth going there any more after that. I do still have the Hooters Honolulu t-shirt I picked up when Mom and I went to see my sister and the kids. Her husband was a Marine stationed at Pearl back then.

I’ll bet part of the reason is because they can’t find enough slim girls without a bunch of disgusting metal in their face and a bunch of trashy tats to work there.
I’ve always been hooked up with a good enough looking woman that I didn’t have to go there to window shop.
And the food was not good.

Have only been to one three times. Excellent hamburgers.
I imagine Political Correctness has taken it’s toll, making themselves less socially acceptable to the activists and general public.

Then the quality went way down.

Hooters has closed many of it's stores nationwide because of a lack of business. I believe there used to be three, maybe four Hooters in Utah at one time, now there is only one according to the Hooters web site.

Hooters, Tilted Kilt, now Twin Peaks. Same scheme different name. Have been to them all at one time or another.
The bar and restaurant business seems to be cyclical, create the concept then franchise if successful, quality drops as franchises wring every drop of profit then the business declines with locations closing till the bankruptcy filing and dissolution of the business. Franchising is the key to big money, but very few very few franchisors are able to maintain the quality control once the businesses grow to a national chain. Amazing to see Wendy's, McDonalds, BK, DQ Chick Filet etc do as well as they have.

Was to Hooters once, BITD. My best friend was living near Syracuse NY circa 1997. His wife and daughter went to her folks for the weekend. There was a big gun show at the NYS Fairgrounds. So I came up to visit.
Gun show was great, saw things I never saw before or ever again.
We went out, and he took me to Hooters. Not Impressed, by the food or the women. The wings were seriously overrated, as were the girls. The hottest one was older than me ( I was 30). We left.
We went to a local bar where the barmaid looked like could play outside tackle for the Steelers, but she was cool and the wings were excellent.
I'll take a mom&pop bar with good wings over a place with breaded wings and questionalbe eye candy.

Been to Hooters twice, no need to go back.
On a side note, a few years back, here in my town they built a Bass Pro right next to a Home Depot. My said all they needed to do was open a Hooters there and every woman in town would know where to find her husband.

Hooters are one of those novelty restaurants where guys go just to see what it's like, then rarely return. If they spent more emphasis on good food vs. good knockers they might not be in trouble.

Seems like the themed places ned to havea come on...The hidencosts are what kill you. Like the 22 dollar drinks at a restaurant...ask what you are paying for before you order. Never been to a Hooters just the name was a tipoff. Needed to have something that covered the cost of 2nd rate food. ...and anytime I had a drink at a restaurant I made sure I knew the cost. Even going to the checkout at Wally World now days over half the girls are tatted up...or tackled up...even the ones who truly didn't need it. I learned a long time ago...you want to attract gals...borrow a baby and go to a mall

I went to a Hooters once in Sturgis. Not a real building, kind of an awning on the street. Meh. Of course, boobs to Sturgis is coals to Newcastle.

At at one in Virginia Beach. Food and wait staff were not memorable. Don’t recall patronizing another.

When Hooters first opened, the chics were hot and the food was OK.
As time went on, the food was still OK, but the chicks got skankier and skankier.
I haven't been to Hooters in years, so I don't know what it's like, now. In fact, I hadn't been to a regular restaurant until earlier this month and I was amazed/appalled at the prices vs quality of food and service. I can imagine what hooters is like, now!

Had a Hooters here in Okoboji back in the 90's, only lasted 1 summer. Mostly heard complaints about the prices. Plus you could find better looking gals in any bar or beach.

I went to my cousins wedding at the local Hooters a few years ago. They had the wedding about an hour before opening. Hooters girls acted as brides maids. Needless to say, it was a hoot.

Hooters went down when they lost their court battle on "selective" hiring policies and started hiring Miss Piggy.

Here in the SouthWest, we have a chain called
Ojos Locos Tacos
(Crazy Eyes, in Inglis)
Their staff make Hooters gals look like they are in their Sunday-Best!

There is a Twin Peaks here in San Antonio, I drive past it maybe every week, but I have never stopped. I suppose the theme was similar to Hooters. There was a big biker shootout battle at the Twin Peaks in Waco around 10 years ago, many fatalities. Some may remember it. It made the national news. 7 YEARS AGO TODAY: Shootout at Waco Twin Peaks leaves 9 dead, 18 wounded
I remember going to a Hooters in St. Louis back in the 00s. Very memorable. You have heard of people with a room temperature IQ? Our waitress was notable for having her IQ in the deep freeze. That, or she was spaced out on drugs. Never saw a waitess like her, before or since. I thought it was an act but it wasn’t.

The Hooters case really did not concern if a Hooters server was Miss Piggy or Miss America, but rather if a server had to be a female, and if males could be excluded from being hired as servers. Hooters successfully argued that being a female was a legitimate specific occupational requirement for a Hooters server, but not for other restaurant non-server positions such as a bartender, cook, or dishwasher. However Twin Peaks did settle a discrimination case involving “Body Scoring” of female servers. Twin Peaks couldn’t do that. And presumably, neither could Hooters.
