Um, depending on what type of mushrooms, after a few sips of “tea” or drink made from them, you won’t really care about the taste!
And don’t bogart that peace pipe, Chief Tripping Bear!

My wife and I drink quite a bit of Kamboocha, I call it "bug juice". It ain't for everyone, there are many different varieties. I like one that has quite a bit of Chaga mushroom, it is loaded with positive gut bacteria and very helpful to your digestion and your entire digestive tract for that matter. I like to eat mushrooms of all sorts, we are fortunate in this part of the state and area that there are very few deadly mushrooms, unlike on the wet side of the state where they have a half dozen or so that will kill you with little to no antidote, kidney failure at best. I have to be careful anymore about smoking strong weed or messing around with shrooms as well as drinking. It seems that after a fall I had a couple years ago and knocked myself out for a couple minutes I am much more susceptible to the effects of all those things. So much so that I hardly drink or smoke at all anymore, maybe a beer or two ever now and then, like after mowing the lawn. A shot of good whisky will last me an hour or better.

I would not be averse to trying it as edible mushrooms are one of my weaknesses.
Licit or no.

I have to admit that I have never heard of Mushroom Tea. The wife and I do drink the Kombucha by Synergy for digestion health.

You know, many of our foods are eaten in a (misplaced or not misplaced) state of trust. I try to base this trust on my extremely limited knowledge of botany and biology, and my fair to middlin' experience of human motivation based on greed, idiocy, wisdom and several other common human traits.
When it comes to mushrooms, which I often enjoy, I trust the large supermarket chains. Some others, less so. Each person chooses for himself how to place his trust, if in fact he trusts much at all.
It should be intuitively obvious that I am not in a position to evaluate others' estimates of trust, but I'm pretty happy so far with my own.

Far be it from me to make fun of others mud water choices. Me? I'll stick with coffee coffee and tea tea. Nothing fancy, just the basics.

As Curly from the Three Stooge's use to say, "never hoid of it". Woob, woob, woob!
It's 8 o'clock Columbian Peaks for us made in an electric or stove top percolator. Tossed Mr. Coffee into the trash 4 decades ago.

Between the addition of Kombucha and other aids like massive dosage of Probiotics I can't believe the difference in my digestion...night and day, I sleep better too.

If you are into those things, Cocaine Papers by Sigmund Freud, with notes by his wife, Anna, is a good read. Sigmund was a serious coke head.
P.S. I drink Brother Bears coffee, from Yellow Springs, OH. Brother Bear is my nephew. I think he also has mushroom tea of some sort.

I'm sure your nephew is a good person selling healthy and safe goods, but I'm sorry, there's no way I'm drinking mushroom tea provided by someone named Brother Bear. That scenario sounds like the start of a Hunter S. Thompson story.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but my wife drinks Ryze. She says it tastes just like mild coffee and doesn't have the acid of the regular stuff. Occasionally she will mix it with regular coffee when she wants that particular flavor.
And if you aren't particularly fond of what it is made from, I suggest you avoid reading the ingredients listed on just about anything else sold in the US these days...

...I'm allergic to ingested fungus. Drinking mushroom tea would guarantee a trip to the ER and possibly the morgue.

Just checked his web site. No mushroom tea...or coffee. His motto is Kindness in every cup. No fear and loathing.

This thread is full of "fun guys".
By the way, know why toadstools grow in circles?
Because there isn't mush room.

Story not about coffee
Many years ago, while living in Enterprise, AL I knew a cattle farmer who let me fish his 5 stock ponds. Cow pies everywhere in LA (lower Alabama). One day several teenagers got on his land and picked what they thought were psilocybin mushrooms. They apparently misidentified their shrooms and ended up in the hospital, violently ill. No utube back then to tell them the good ones turned blue when you bruise the stems. Live and learn...or die young.
BTW, those ponds were full of huge bass and channel cat. Yummm!

I had a distant relative that picked mushrooms her whole life. One time she messed up and got some bad ones. No one in her family ate any but her. She was in the hospital for a long time. Organ shut down but eventually she recovered. Same woman was meeting with a married man and his wife found out. The wife confronted them and shot her in the belly. She reached into her belly with her fingers and pulled out the bullet. Tough chick!

Reminded of a quote I saw once.
All fungi are edible. Some are only edible once.
