Default Easter

I am a traditionalist in many things.
Peeps. Yellow Peeps nothing else. The pink and blue ones are an abomination before the Almighty.
Also M&M's Traditional colors only and they MUST be with peanut, not without. Nor shall they be stuffed with that abomination called peanut butter which belongs ONLY is Reeses cups.
Chocolate must be dark Dove pieces.
No giant Pecan eggs and N-O-T-H-I-N-G stuffed with tasteless white nougat.
Chocolate Bunnies must be solid and dark chocolate and MUST be consumed from the ears down.
Jelly Beans-the little bitty starburst flavors, NOT the old fashioned big ones.
Watermelon ones please.
I've already found Mrs. Cajunlawyer's stash for the grandchild

I am waiting for day after sales on Peeps! I plan on buying several packs of yellow, and one pack of the brown Dr. Pepper. (My favorite soda flavor)

Personally, I used to raise tame rabbits for meat. I Think a giant sow would be the perfect meal for after Church on Easter! lots of baked carrots too!

Ruthie's mom loved Peeps. She would stockpile mass quantities.

She would poke holes in the packages so they would go stale.

You can keep the Peeps. There is something about the texture I don't like. Creme Eggs, big hollow chocolate eggs (rarely seen here, much loved in UK) and chocolate bunnies for the win.

All in for the black jelly beans! Got tired of picking em out of the mix, and only buy nothing but. Favorite sweet treat this time of year, as can't take the chocolate anymore.

Peeps are nasty. This year they made a bunch of new flavors including Dr Pepper flavor. I hate Dr Pepper, but it's the national drink of Texas. Everybody else here seems to love it.

Jelly beans - give me the Brach's tiny bird eggs. Cadbury eggs - the caramel filled ones are great; the regular not so much. Chocolate bunnies, hollow or otherwise I can live without. Especially Palmer. That's the nastiest chocolate on Earth.

Not a Peeps fan. My 40+ year old son is still a fan of these chick shaped sponges. Any chocolate has to be the highest quality stuff....Dove, Lindt .....NOT Palmers. Any bunny shaped chocolate definitely has the ears consumed first.
And Red Bull...

I'll join the Peeps haters. Even when I was a fat little kid who would eat almost anything sweet, I hated Peeps. A long time ago, I determined that if it's not chocolate, it's not Easter candy.

One good thing about Easter is,
if the kids don't break or eat all the eggs,

it means that Grand Ma, (my wife ) will have a potatoe salad for me,
in a day or two, to go with my soon, BBQ hot dogs or hamburgers.

I am watching my weight, so no candy.
Just a Payday every now and then, if I have been good on my "almost" diet.

I was a sick pyromaniac as a kid. The peeps would burn nicely if they didn't listen to me. They were only yellow, none of these "new" colors. Jelly beans were slingshot ammo. Solid chocolate rabbits only. Wife always buys me some sort of big chocolate egg that I need power tools to cut. I let them sit around until she eats them. Too much work to enjoy one. A bread knife works great as a chocolate saw.

With the price of eggs still a bit elevated at least the problem of the overlooked month old remnants of the Easter Egg Hunt will be reduced.

My dad did the same with Circus Peanuts.

He would poke holes in the bag, put them in the fridge to cure and threaten pain and pestilence upon me and my brother if we touched them.

Dark chocolate for me. My tastes have changed, I don't like over the top sweet. Peeps are off the scale, I've never liked them.

You jelly bean fans should check out the Jolly Rancher original flavor jelly beans. They are only available this time of year and IMHO the best out there. I switched from Starburst to them a few years ago and like them much better.

The original jolly rancher plant was a few miles from my childhood home. That place smelled gooood!

We're heading to San Antonio to visit the son. He says he's making a lasagna and an early birthday cake for me. Sounds pretty good, I reckon.

Will definitely remember to give thanks for the real meaning of Easter as well. The unimaginable gift of Grace.
