Peanut capital of the world?? OK?

My wife is from OK, Midwest City. She seems to think that OK is the peanut capital of the world. I happen to think that NC or SC would carry that honor. Heck, Mr. Peanut himself, Jimmy C. would agree with me.

Any help here to win my position would help. thanks.

Georgia as far as production, by a long shot. About 30 to 1 over Oklahoma. About 3 to 1 over the next largest producer, Texas.

I would just say as a region, southeast Alabama and Southwest Ga. combined beat everyone hands down.

Oh, and if you don't believe me, ride around and look at all of the peanut trees in groves.

Isn't there a big brick peanut monument just off of I-75 somewhere around Adel or Tifton commemorating that Georgia is the world's #1 peanut producer?

Seems that for some reason I can't forget such superfluous malarkey.

However, the biggest nut in Georgia is Jimmy Carter.

The peanut is at Ashburn. A big ten-four on Jimmah. Bo Barrow said Jimmah came in his store a few years back, complete with his Secret Service entourage, and wanted to buy a half-box of .22 ammunition. Bo said he told him he and his group were getting in the way of paying customers.

Jimmy Carter...not only is he one of the essential parts to the cakes made over there in Claxton...

He's the last of the big spenders.

I'd a' paid Bo good money for a video of that!

I don't have any statistics but I would say wheat would be the number one cash crop in Oklahoma.

Years ago, I heard marijuana was the second biggest cash crop in the state.
