More of my wifey's and my Sunday cruise...taking photos of the marina and the boats on Lewis & Clark Lake, four miles west of Yankton, SD on the Missouri River between SD and Nebraska.

Photos from the South, facing Northwest:

Facing west on top of Gavins Point Dam. This is a photo of Lewis & Clark Lake. It averages 40' deep. Today there is a little wind and small white caps. The wind is great for the sail boats.

Lewis & Clark Lake Marina. The white chalkstone cliffs across the lake are in Nebraska.

Across the highway from the marina, facing North. Fireworks can be purchased by out of state visitors. South Dakota state residents can only buy during the short 4th of July selling season.

When doing our trans-continental PWC trip in 2003, this area was extremely low on water. Ran up on a sandbar about 50 miles up the Missouri in N. Dakota (in the middle of nowhere). We were seeing partly and submerged logs in the previous 75 miles. Pulled out in N.D. and got back in in Idaho on the Snake and Crystal to the Columbia. The Missouri and upper Mississippi are great waterways to travel (when they have water).

Great to see this area as it should look. We had similar problems in the SE (NC, SC, GA) from2007, 8, and recovered in 2009
