New to reloading, loading for .30-'06

168 will work great in both 308Win and 30-06 but you will probably need to use different powders. The -06 will want a slightly slower burn rate. H-4350 and IMR-4451 are both good choices here.

    C.O.L. .223 w/H322 Sierra 53g #1400c

Every gun is different. Start with data from a trusted source and then adjust to whatever your gun likes best...And don't forget to take detailed notes so that you can reproduce it again later. Ten to twenty thou off the lands is a good starting point for most bolt action rifles but for the AR...

Model 29-10 Classic Hot Factory Loads

Please post any reply from Underwood but understand that flattened primers are not a problem. Yes, they are a sign of high pressure, but companies like Underwood are known for producing hot ammo. That's their jam.

Cylinder Throat Dimensions for Jacketed Bullets

I think your accuracy finding with plated makes sense. I have heard of people say that plated pullets are just as accurate as jacketed. I have heard people say that they are less accurate. Never heard anyone say that they are more accurate.

    Question Regarding .45 ACP Rim

    You might want to use plug gauges (pin gauges) to measure the cylinders. Hhip 4103-0451 $5.62 Replacement Pin Gage P-2 0.0002 Tolerance 0.451" | Zoro.com Hhip 4103-0452 $5.62 Replacement Pin Gage P-2 0.0002 Tolerance 0.452" | Zoro.com Replacement Pin Gage P-2 0.0002 Tolerance 0.453" | Zoro.com

    Powder Measure

I have one of the "lite" models. Works great for precision rifle loading. You will want to do the "McDonald's straw modification". As others have said, it is slow but for precision rifle reloading it is fast enough. Sure beats the days of hand trickling powder.

Have you tried these in a 30/06 ?

If you are a fan of 4350 then IMR-4451 is worth a look. Right about the same burn rate but is part of the Enduron line which is supposed to be temp stable (which H4350 already is) but also adds the copper fouling remover which works VERY well. H4350 and IMR4350 definitely are prone to building...

    Reloading Help For New Shooters

As someone said above, most load data books contain a foundational section. Both the Lyman manual as well as the Lee Modern Reloading book have very good "intro" sections. Note that Richard Lee is a highly opinionated old guy and it makes for some entertaining reading. Overall Lee makes...

Reloading characteristics between plated and jacketed bullets?

This is actually true for all bullets. Two different jacketed pills of the same weight will not flow down the barrel the same. It tends not to be super important for most handgun applications (you notice it much more when doing rifle work over a chronograph) but it still is true and it is of...

Reloading characteristics between plated and jacketed bullets?

As others have said, plated tends to behave closer to published jacketed data then published lead data. I am a fellow Glock shooter and have sent thousands of 124gr plated downrange (multiple brands). I am using Universal powder and running right at published max loads for jacketed bullets...

Any body mix different lots of the same powder

"Optimum Barrel Time". This is about as far off topic as we can get: Optimal Barrel Time Paper If you are not a long range rifle shooter and also ~ 75% crazy then you can just ignore.

Any body mix different lots of the same powder

I do it all the time. For pistol shooting, as others have said, I run a can down towards then end and then dump the fresh powder into the hopper on top. If I was going to switch calibers and had only a little left I would not feel bad about dumping it into the top of the new jug (just make...

    Lehigh .355" 90gr Extreme Defender

Sorry for not understanding. If anyone works up some loading info on these, please share it. These look very interesting if you look at the high speed video on this projectile (and the ARX).
