    .22 Long Rifle Identification

    The 4th picture shows clearly it is a 617-5. The Standard Catalog of S&W shows the 617-5 as starting in 2001 and adds the internal locking system to the 6-shot frame. The 617-2 10-shot had the alloy cylinder. SCS&W shows serial number prefix CHM as July 2004 and CSR as July 2004.
