    Help identifying a 629?

Also I will add any of the new style rear sights for the S&W 629 will work. If I am wrong, someone correct me. Like I said Midway USA has a lot of S&W sights.

    Help identifying a 629?

Luckily yours is a 629-4. The -3's use a unique rear sight, pretty hard to find. Midway USA has a pile of rear sights. The rear sight is held in by 1 screw, and the rear part of the sight has a screw also that sits in slot on the back of the frame and when you turn the elevation screw it brings...

    "EXTREME" 629

I would keep it. The Extreme would make an awesome hunting handgun for far shots. You do not see many Extremes around.

    629-3 Classic 5"

Awesome looking gun!! I would love to get the unfluted cylinder for my 629. And swap between the fluted, and unfluted if I wanted to. Just something for me to look into down the road.

    New 629-6

Nice grips with the medallion on the Hogue's!! From what I hear they are hard to find tho. I wish mine had these type of grips. Why did they stop making these style?

Since the world is coming to an end.....

And here is my .460 S&W with my 629-6. Probably if there was a Zombie break out, then I would pick the .460 for the power. But if I had to do a lot of walking to escape them I would pick the 629. ;).

    New 629-6

I picked up this 629-6 before the Corona virus outbreak. I have been enjoying shooting it, and reloading for it. I live out in the sticks, so I have a personal shooting range (0-50 yards) right next to my house. I have been honing in on my revolver shooting skills during this down time. At night...

Since the world is coming to an end.....

Here is my new one for the end of the world, lol. Picked it up about 3 weeks ago. It is a toss up between this 629 or my .460 for the end of the world;)

    Range report on my 629-6

The reason that I believe the load needs some work is the last two targets fired by your brother. If shooting style was to blame, then the fourth target fired by your brother with a 460 would not look the way it does. {Your brother must have good form,{and a good load} must be either the gun...

    Range report on my 629-6

I went under the Hodgdon website and they had listed a max charge of 6.5 gr of Clays for a lead 200 gr flat point. So I used 6 gr of Clays.

    Range report on my 629-6

The diameter of the lead bullets are .430. I might try that. I have tried Clays powder, and Unique, and it shoots the same size groups. I have been playing with the grains some on the loads, and still no change. I guess I will try some .429 Jacketed bullets. I have Bullseye, Tightgroup, H-110...

    Range report on my 629-6

I know why it is hitting to the right when I shoot it, it is due to I am left handed. But I just think the group size should be a lot lot smaller/ tighter. 2 different shooters, same size group off the bench
