Mine is serial # 1926 the 4th catalog states that 4333 were made between 1887 and 1910.2930 were in 32-44 and1413 were in 38-44. Mine is 38-44 what is your?

It would be called a 32 double action 4th model. Serial # range 43406 to 282999 made between 1883 and 1909. Your would most likely have been made just prior to 1900.

The serial # is 84568 i tried to post picture don't know if sucessful There it is the rosewood grips are off i was taking picture of my second issue to compare to a "2nd issue single shot" a few months ago

I have a model 1 2nd issue. It is in maybe fair condition, hinge is wobbly. Bought it at auction in Hatfield Pa about 10 years ago

Nice model 2 . You don't see them too often. Mines nickel with a loose hinge. The two Tip ups i have it appears the hinge was the weakest point. Top breaks were much advanced

My speer manual #13 lists 5.5 grains of unique, velocity of 1111 from a 6" barrel using # 9 shot and the speer shot capsules. I use the capsules and #8 shot

Art is the artist interpretation not a photogragh. I have trouble getting stick figures right, so I think you are on the right track. Practice will improve your style. Have to determine if it is surface water intrusion or ground water. Surface water can be re directed as you have tried. Possibly a sump pump located in the area of intrusion could lower the water table if it is ground water. Good luck happy New Year

Enjoyed your article on the 38/44. I never found good data on it. Cartridges of the world touched on it. Mine is Serial # 1936 nickle plated, fair bore. Now i can find the component so i can shoot it along with my first gen colts. Need to find some 357 maximum. Thanks again

Thanks. It has no markings on the top strap but compared to my 10-5 the edges appear more rounded so maybe the US Property was removed

My victory My victory is v635274, 5" barrel, parkerized finish, lanyard ring cut off, 38 S&W ctg,and houge type rubber stocks. From reading other info on this thread it should have been made in 1944. It appears to have no other significant marks except smith and wesson on left side of barrel...
