This year I have really been struggling with health issues. I'm 46 and have lyme disease along with other problems caused by the lyme.

Point being, it has zapped my strength and there are times where I'm just downright beat and downtrodden. So one of the things I started to do is draw to take my mind off of it. As I'm plopped down on the couch I grab my el cheapo mechanical pencil and started going to town.

These are my first 2 tries at it. I would like to do a 1917 and if I have the strength, continue to get better at it.

I apologize for any of you on Arfcom that these are a repeat. But I know there area lot of guys over here that aren't over there. And maybe some would appreciate them. Even if they are not very good.

If anyone else has some drawn work, would love to see them.

Drawing #1 (yes, aftermarket stocks on a Victory) I know this one is pretty rough......

Drawing #2 Plain ole' Victory, getting a bit better I think.

These were not done with a measuring tool, so I know some of the dimensions are wonky and somehow I managed to give a good slant to the back of the cylinder and not notice until about now. LOL. Oooops. Among other issues. Handle seems a bit off and tapered barrels are not easy to draw. hehehehe

Thanks a bunch guys!!! For the prayers and encouragement.

Yeah, I spent quite a bit more time on the 2nd one and really tried to dial in better. So yeah, I wonder how I can do on the next one! I might have to do a different kind to keep my interest. Maybe a model 10 HB. Or a 1917. Or J frame. We'll see. Although that could've been my magnum opus. LOL.

Although that 2nd one may have been a climax for me. We'll see.

LOL.

Working on a heavy barrel model 10, 4" round butt now. It's the right side of it so we don't have to see the lock........... I suppose they made some of those before the lock too.... LOL.

Thanks for the compliments guys. And well wishes and encouragment. I really appreciate it.

Art is the artist interpretation not a photogragh. I have trouble getting stick figures right, so I think you are on the right track. Practice will improve your style. The wife does some landscapes etc. It amazing how the right shading allows it to pop and look 3 dimensional. I got lyme last May and was on antibiotic for 3 weeks. Pain in joints so bad had trouble getting a shirt on. I used the ibuprofen gel caps twice a day and turmeric off a internet site. After a year I feel pretty good, my hands feel stiffer but my grip and strength has been returning. Being 67 and the first time I've ever been sick it set me back. I can do pretty well what I did before property surveying and farming, I just do it a little slower. Don't give up prays out to you

A friend of mine could/can do drawings, he made me a luger one that was very nice.

You did a good job, I can't even get close to making something better looking than a club!

I'm going to post this in the appropriate forum, but I'll put it here too.... Actually, it could fit in either of the other 2 forums.... Hmmmmm...... Since you can't see the lock, it could fit in the 61-80 forum.... Should I put it in both? That seems silly.

I want to keep working on shading this one and making it look more real. But this is kind of like shop drawing mode. Plus I'm worried that I'll just ruin it the more I whittle away at it.

59Dexta... I got bit in 2002 and then had a false negative. So I didn't get antibiotics. Then everything fell apart in 2007. It's a lot harder to get rid of when it's been in your system longer. I have neurological problems now and antibiotics made me feel better for a bit, but then just made my guts all messed up. Not sure if I want to even try a picc line..... Nobody seemed to know jack back then except for maybe a few doctors.

I'm glad you got yours early. You will be better off for it.
