What's you favorite S&W revolver Model and Why?

It would have to be my 4" # 15-4, smoothest action in a revolver! Don't know why it took me so long to find one, this one is tops!

Great day at the gun show

I picked up a 98% Cobra at a GS about 2 months ago, $500 OTD, grips are pristine! Best deal I've made in quite a while, except for the Colt Trooper I got out of a pawn for $400 OTD, 95% !

    Help with a trade : Model 15 for a 686-5 .

Keep that 15 ! Those aren't made anymore, the 686's are on GS tables all the time, I finally found a 4" #15 about 3 weeks ago, have looked for several years before finding one 95%, don't trade!!

    Cleaning blue finish model 15-3.

Get a can of Renaissance Wax, use an old T-shirt and apply a light coat everywhere, then wipe off. It will keep any oil from your fingers from penetrating into/onto the metal. Once in awhile just wipe it off, will hold a luster for a long time. I use it on my blued revolvers, especially the...

Qualified for my CC permit renewal, with a .38/44 Heavy Duty

Congratulations ! I picked up a 1931 .38-44 out of a pawn shop about 2 months ago, it no where as nice as yours, its about 85%. This ol' rascal really shoots too, I was trolly amazed at how accurate it is. I took it to a smith friend of mine and had him clean it up inside, re-lube it and...

    Rear sight blade for 15-4

I just picked up a nice Smith # 15-4 at a gun show, its a very nice piece, however, the rear sight blade has been worn/filed off. I'd be more than happy to buy any/one if anyone might have an extra. I checked on Numrich's site, all sold out. Thanks in advance.

Tulsa .38/44 Outdoorsman - SWHF scores again!

Dave, What a beautiful piece you've picked up, sorry about the boogers on it ! I picked up an HD about 2 months ago, serial # 401**, definitely not as nice as yours, but I think I'll keep it around. About the S&W Hist. Foundation, how does one go about finding out anything about them? If...

    Let's see your Garage Gun

Neighbor had been ticketed twice before for letting dog run loose, had bitten 2 carpenters previous to my happening. Nothing has ever been said to me about the scenario, they stay over there on their side of the street, we do likewise.

    Let's see your Garage Gun

About 17 years ago, we moved into a new house, subdivision just getting built. I'm out in the garage moving boxes into the house, a big, black lab from across the street shows up, snarling and growling like he owns the place, couldn't even find a shovel, I backed into the house. I called PD...

    Stock restoration by DWFAN

If you don't mind my asking, what do you charge? I've got a 1937 S&W 38-44 HD, #40*** that has some tired looking grips. Just curious.

    6.5" 38/44 from 1940

That is really a super neat OD ! I recently picked up a '37 38-44 HD, #40***, not as nice of a finish as yours, but that sucker really shoots nice, better than I can shoot it. Good luck with it.

    Pre-war 38/44 vs M57

Not to be smart, did you remove the butt strain screw before you took off the side plate? When the smith took mine apart to clean it up, he said thats the first screw to take out. Looks like my '37 38-44 inside, must have been the dirty 30's. Ha Sorry, I don't know about the differences...
