Thanks everyone. Though it's not my first gun, it is the first S&W and first revolver that I've actually owned. But I shot revolvers alot as a kid.

I too joined the 617 club this past weekend. My dad gave me one of the three that he has. The one he gave me is a 617-4 with 6" barrel. It's the one he got for his 30 year retirement gift from work.

From the reviews on Midway for the Weaver 401, not all the red dot sights will fit on this mount.
