Rust pitting under the grips on CCW stainless 686

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll pick up some steel wool or brass wool if I can find it. For those of you saying to clean it once a week I think that's silly. A carry gun should be low maintenance and 100% dependable. I've been using the Hoppe's cloths that have the wax in them on all of my...

    929 is NOT 9x19, but 9x21!

9x21 is far more popular in Europe too. I can't even think of any guns here in the US that are sold in 9x21.

    Comments on a .45?

I loved my Springfield XDs .45 if you're looking for a ccw gun. And anyone who doesn't like a 1911 is a dirty commie. I like my M&P45, but the grip doesn't fit my hand quite right. I also like my SAR arms K2 .45, CZ clone that uses Para 14rd mags. Great gun and feels great like most...

Rust pitting under the grips on CCW stainless 686

I just got this 686+ 3 months ago and have been carrying it ever since. I guess it's the combination of sweat and rubber grips, but I'm getting rust under the grips. The pitting is light, but can be felt with a fingernail. I'm not anal about cleaning the gun, but I have been wiping it down about...

    M&P picture thread.

Picked up a used safariland holster for a 45c on ebay for $30. Time to get a molle adapter and attach it to my SHTF battle belt. The gun is a mismatch 4.5" 45. PD surplus lower, traded the 4" upper for a 4.5", swapped over the night sights off the PD slide.

Japanese BB Gun awesome detail of M&P!

This. I enjoy shooting my KWC 1911 in the backyard, at work, in the house... I can practice drawing from a holster and if I had bad trigger control, I won't end up in the hospital. Shooting at the range is great and all, but who gets to practice in a more realistic environment? You have to take...

    Identifying Police trade in

I also picked up an M&P 45 from buds. Mine is SPD084. As to the OP, I have no issues with buying an LE trade-in. Cheaper and sometimes come with night sights. They usually have more wear from the holster they were in than actually shooting them. An M&P pistol is a tool anyways, not a big deal...

In search of a lightest DA pull, J frame or K frame?

Ruger LCR revolvers have light DA triggers on them also. A tip-up barrel Beretta is a good choice also if your mother can get over the single action. But many people can't, so I'd stick with the revolver. It's pretty hard to mess one of those up if it's loaded and you can pull the trigger.

.45 ACP single stack carry recommendations?

Another vote for the Springfield XDs 3.3" Half the weight of a 1911 and has a slimmer grip. Decent trigger, great reliability, and conceals easily. I can shoot mine just fine. It's very accurate and more controllable than you might expect in a small .45 I carried mine IWB in the 4-5 o'clock...

    Finally a Model 10

That one looks like it's in pretty nice shape. I put one of the rougher Model 10s that Buds has for $289 on layaway. I figure it will be a good gunsmithing candidate for a 6" barrel I have.

My model 69 with eagle grips

That's hot. Those grips fit that gun perfect. S&W should make a blued version of the 69.;)

How do you carry a model 10?

I use a Bianchi IWB holster with my Model 67. It's nice and thin. The 4" tapered barrel on my 67 is pretty lightweight and conceals pretty easily. I don't know if I would want to conceal carry a heavy barrel Model 10 though. Bianchi 6 Inside the Waistband Holster Colt Python Ruger GP100 S&W K
