I finally took advantage of the police trade ins from Bud's. This is a Model 10-10. Paid 333 shipped and 25 for transfer. I didn't have a square butt Tyler adapter so picked one up on GB. All total just over 400 for this setup. Shot it today and it is very nice. It is in much better shape than I expected. Just enough dings to make it a little more loveable. : )

Here is a pic. It won't let me post more than one for some reason.

That's a good looking police trade in. But it's about the best revolver you could own, IMO. It will be reliable as an anvil, and it will last several lifetimes if maintained with even average care. And it will always work. It's easy to shoot, should be accurate, and with +P ammo, it will do a good job for personal protection. With wadcutters or standard pressure ammo, it will be fun to shoot for practice as well as most any other kind of shooting you want to do. And they don't cost an arm and a leg either. Yes, there are other very nice revolvers, each of which have their own charm, but for every day use, year in and year out, you've got a wonderful revolver there. There is a reason that this revolver has been made for so many years in such high numbers. Congratulations!

Good looking gun. I'm currently considering buying one from Buds, but the reviews are mixed on the condition they show up in. I'm not a safe queen guy, but the first used police trade I got from Buds was horrible. S&W M&P 40c, that went back as quick as I got it from them. Real ***.

That one looks like it's in pretty nice shape. I put one of the rougher Model 10s that Buds has for $289 on layaway.

I figure it will be a good gunsmithing candidate for a 6" barrel I have.

I just got a 10-8 from Bud's. Made in 1981, a very pivotal year in my life. Pinned barrel. But the bluing loss was a bit too much for my taste and I just couldn't get past it. So it's being reblued as I type this. Should have it back in 2 weeks. All in, I'll have over $600 into this gun. But I would have lost more on selling the one I had and other than the blue loss, the gun was smooth and tight.

And the way I figure it, having it reblued will keep me from ever selling it since I'll take to much of a loss. I've had too many S&W revolvers come and go. This one is here to stay.
