While I am not a big fan of Colt's revolvers, I have a deep fondness for their Model M.

I sent off for a letter on my 1922 M1908 (.380acp) on June 6th. I'm hoping that this one comes back as nickel from the factory, but not putting too much faith into that. Looks aftermarket, but we'll see. If it comes back as originally being a blued firearm, I'm going to have it re-blued. I know it'll be expensive but I'm okay with that. Hopefully the letter arrives this year.

Now you need a period correct holster. An informal survey of old holsters shows that the Colt pocket auto was second only to the .45 auto in popularity throughout the Twentieth Century.

These were still on the TOE Books and catalog for US Army in 1967. I think that they were the 1908 .380 however. I'd absolutely love to have the .380 model. One of the most beautiful Browning designs ever. Makes the 1910 look like a garden implement...
I dirn't know the date, but I do know these were still available to General Officers who requested them long after the 1911 was made the official GO sidearm.
During the early years of my own Army career I had a neighbor with an exceptionally long history of Army service. One of the family mementos he had in his study was a Model M, in its original Rock Island Arsenal-stamped cardboard box, with the sealed lacing wire still threaded through the action. I can only imagine the price it would command if it were to come onto the market.
Great Colt 1903 .32......Here is my s/n 1, 1908 Colt .380 w/barrel bushing. Sold it many years ago to a CCA member.

Range report. It's deadly. Off hand at 7 yards. Shot the metal M&P9 as well. 100 years if advancement. LOL. 9 was flawless, the 32 had a few fail to chamber at first, but the gun was completely dry. Added some oil and it didn't miss a beat. Had a great day at the range between the rain drops. The target pictures are turned on thier sides, IDK why. Ha.
