So Who's Selling Off Their 3rd Gens Due to Lack of Parts

Fastbolt: thanks for the update. The last time I had the guns inspected by a Glock armorer ("Glock Day" at my Police Supply house) he said as long as the guns passed the function checks, don't worry about it. I've carried spare RSAs in my range box for years. I'll swap them out before my next...

So Who's Selling Off Their 3rd Gens Due to Lack of Parts

I have to call BS on this one. I have a Glock 17 with 8700 rounds through it and a Glock 26 with 7100 rounds down the pipe. Neither one has ever had a part replaced. Ever. Both are boringly reliable and pass all the function checks. That said, I won't sell my CS9. I would consider a 3913 if I...

How much is our S&W 3913 worth?

I'll cast another vote for keeping the 3913. I just went to the range with my CS-9 (slightly shorter version of the 3913) and a M&P Shield 9. The third generation gun is a much better shooter than the new ones. The Shield will be a gun to carry. The CS is a gun to shoot. There is a difference.

L.E.O. question...Why did you become a police officer?

I was told there were three reasons to be a cop: 1. You get to carry a gun. 2. You get to drive fast. 3. You can meet women. Now, I know that carrying a gun is like carrying a handkerchief, driving fast is really stressful and I don't care to know that kind of woman.

    CS9 CC Holsters

+1 on the Yaqui style holster. I use a Don Hume model 30 that I bought for a Sig 228 and it fits perfectly. I also have a Crossbreed that pulls the gun in tight against my side ... so tight that getting a grip to draw is uncomfortable. The leather sweat guard can be cut away to improve the grip...

    Pistol Magazine Quantity

Since I live in the Frozen North my minimum number is enough to hold a 50 round box of ammo. That way I don't have to load mags in the cold. For my CS9, that's seven. For my Sig 228 it's only four. That said, I think I have 6 for my Sig, 6 for my CZ, 7 for my CS9, 6 for my Shield, and only...

As the Holidays approach, which charities do you give to?

We try to support local charities. Our school has a fund for homeless students that provides for things like back packs, caps and gowns, and sports equipment for kids that stay in school. On a state level, we support MI-COPS. They offer support to spouses and children of Police Officers that...

    Shield Holster

I bought a Don Hume J.I.T. belt slide that fits a Taurus. The model is 53 709. It's left handed. I siliconed the interior and let the gun sit in it for two days. It's a perfect fit and snug enough to retain the Shield.

    Found a CS9 today

I also have a Shield and a CS9. If I had to keep just one, it would be the CS. They are a great shooting gun.

M&P Shield vs. M&P Compact: Once and for all.

I picked up a Shield to carry in the summer under T shirts. It is thin, light and a 9mm (not 380). That said, it's not a gun that's fun to shoot at the range. It just doesn't fill my hand like my other pistols. However, at 4 yards point shooting 6 rounds go into a 4 1/2 inch circle in 2...

Is CCI .22 Ammo Really That Much Better?

I have a Walther P22. It's a nice little gun for new shooters. It works 100% on MiniMags. It has about 4,000 rounds through it and has been miserable on bulk ammo from Winchester, Remington, and Federal. CCI is worth the extra $ just to avoid the frustration.

    Southpaw Shield owners?

I just got mine Friday. You're right about the slide stop - right hand only. Good news for leftys - the mag release is easier to use with my trigger finger than the release on my Glocks. Better news - the safety is flush and there is no chance that it can be accidently bumped on by a lefty.

    Dicks Sporting Goods

The place has the perfect name: "At Dicks, we don't have Dick and we don't know Dick."

    3913 SA Accuracy

Do you follow through on your shots? By that, do you hold the trigger in after the shot and then release it just until the reset click? That may help if your first shot is on the mark.

Picked up a CS 9 today

I have picked up four or five different holsters for my CS9. My favorite is a Don Hume JIT slide No. 30. It is actually for a Sig 228 but it fits the CS9 like it was made for it. It holds the gun against my hip without digging into my side. I can carry all day with it - it's so comfortable I...
