i bought it and a model 1950 44 special like new in box and a colt 455 eley the colt was refinished though but he wanted $2500 for all 3 didn't argue sold the colt and now im sitting around 1500 in both smith's.
i will have to check i took them off to wipe the gun down but never looked there was a note taped in the grip from a person that owned it in the 60's it said thinking its the guy's dad ibought it from

i was going to maybe when i get finished tonight ill get to it the 1917 doesnt have the box though it was the only one that did not come with a box did come with a us holster dated 1917 also. will start a thread for it maybe some one can tell me more on it
