Congrats on acquiring a great gun. Without original stocks, very clean example: I'd think it's a $650-$700 gun to the right person who appreciates a 22LR Combat Masterpiece.

Hopefully yours doesn't have tight chambers. Some of the 6 inch and 4 inch K frame target 22s can require a little more effort to push the cartridges in the cylinder and then need more of a pop on the extractor after firing. Some folks ream the chambers slightly to fix it, and some folks run a bore brush through the chambers periodically during a range session. Then again some guns don't have tight chambers, but it's a common enough problem to be aware of.

The Altamont stocks really stand out, If this were my gun I'd sell the stocks to offset buying a correct pair of magna stocks. It appears that fellow forum members assign an approximate value of $100 give or take to the gun having the correct grips. I'm sure with some diligience you can easily find a correct pair for under $100 in a condition to match your gun.

You liked it.......You bought it.......Internet value is meaningless.....Don't anyone play Monday morning quarterback to you choices.

Not sure if ill shoot it if i had the box no but no box kinda torn.

i was thinking the same thing but some guy's saying $600 on it ive never found one in the wild for that unless they are rusty or bluing worn off it was a cash and trade deal have around 750 in it the pistol i traded was worth a chunk but didn't want it and had it for sale for close to a year no one wanted it so figured id jump on it

kinda what i was thinking ive found maybe one in that 500 to 600 range but there beat

It is my opinion that with Smith and Wesson revolvers, you never really pay too much, you simply may have purchased it a little early. You also have to weigh how often you see what you are looking for and how much the price could go up, if and when you see another. Additionally, you have the added benefit of more time to enjoy shooting it, which is priceless.

I have two 18-3s and they are my favorite shooters. One goes along on almost every range trip. :D
Around here, that would easily be an $800 gun. In fact, in that condition, $1K wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Shoot and enjoy. They're wonderful revolvers. ;)
