Pick up a roll of "rosin paper" - the red paper used for floor underlayment at your local building supply store. Cut off a piece for the bench or kitchen table for cleaning and disassembly, etc. Absorbent, makes cleanup easy, and cheap. One roll makes hundreds of "pads".

Wife had one years ago, now that we moved back to PA (from the People's Republic of Maryland), she wants another. Only stickler is the $600 price tag on a new one. :eek:
