    S&W MODEL 46

Barrie I know that Wolf Springs makes recoil springs in different weights for the model 41 which I would believe applies to the model 46 as well. If using a heavier spring it seems that would allow the use of hi velocity ammo without long term damage to the frame and contact area.

    S&W MODEL 46

I have not been on the forum in quite a while. I have a opportunity to buy a S&W Model 46, serial number range, 73,000. This one has the lightweight 5 inch field barrel with partridge front sight which appears to be milled. Overall condition is used with some wear marks on the left side of...

    CCI 22 ammo boxs

.22 lr ammo up here in the Northwest area of Oregon is still a rare site after nearly 3 years. I just don't know why another manufacture does not open a plant in the U.S. and adds another 5-10 million rounds a day of .22 lr . Current production is not enough to meet demand. Hoarding .22 lr...

    Winchester .22 LR Ammo

With the addition of perhaps millions of more .22 lr firarms owner, AR15 .22 lr conversion kits, there are simple more people buying .22 lr ammo than 4-5 years ago yet capacity has not increased. Of course there is a shortage. The only increase has been the price which as increased well above...

    Winchester .22 LR Ammo

Well into over 2 years the .22 lr ammo shortage continues. I can buy all the handgun, shotgun, and rifle ammo I want. But you will be lucky indeed to see one box of .22 lr ammo on the shelf. The .22 lr manufactures need to open additional plants dedicated to the making of .22 lr ammo...

Model 41, first trip to the range.

The model 41 is a handgun that shoots like a rifle. I recall shooting 50 rds at 50 meters with my 41 with the 5.5 barrel. The 2 inch bull was nearly completely shot out with cheap at the time, .22 lr CCI blazer ammo, I believe something like $8.00 / 500 rd bricks. With match ammo 1 inch...

    Trouble with 1980s M-41

I would check and clean out the firing pin channel. If this is dirty you can have light primer strikes.

Model 41 stainless with 5 inch field barrel

Here is a no brainer. Look at the price of a used 5 inch field barrel today. Even if S&W had a 5 inch field barrel option they would sell and be profitable.

    What kind of .22???

Once in a while In the past I have purchased .22 lr ammo, when it was cheap and always in stock, that did not work very well in my .22lr semi auto pistols. Usually the only pistol the ammo would function in was my model 41. I usually reserved this ammo for my Colt Diamondback revolver which I...

Just picked up a model 66-1

I have a very early model 66 4 inch barrel and I noticed that the rear sight is stainless and not black. I have heard that the first run came through with stainless rear sights.

    22 ammo prices

Until the ammo manufactures get it in their heads that there are now 15-30 million or so more gun owners than a few years ago and most of them purchased .22 lr firearms nothing will change. Also the 10's of thousands of .22 conversion kits for the AR15 and pistols as well obviously run on .22...

    22 ammo prices

Here in northwestern Oregon, Warrenton infact, the local Fred Meyer sporting goods department had no .22lr ammo. The salesman said they only received 4 100 round packs last week and they were gone that day. I asked how many rounds for the next shipment. He did not know when or how many. It...
