I like it.
Hi guys,
I had posted this on another forum a couple of days ago (hoodswoods.net) but I thought you guys might like it here...
PS. The grips on it are banana grips that came with the 34-1 which I chopped.

I had been eyeballing the S&W Model 317...
I love my 547 :)
It rides with me the most these days. I use a Simply Rugged holster that's very comfortable. It's not too big and not too small. It feels juuuuuuuust right.
It's printing low so I plan on going slightly hotter with my loads. I put some Tyler T's and hand ejector repro grips on...
not really
The trigger pull on mine is amazing for some reason. The timing seems like it is better than perfect and the DA and SA pulls are as smooth as a safe rolling on greased ball bearings... secure and firm. I haven't measured the pull weight but I can pull on it without haveing to choke...
Here it is...
There is some metal showing but my hand doesn't feel it. These are the reproduction grips from Tombstone - made for a 1904 .32-20 HJ K-frame. I took pics with a cell-phone camera but here they are anyway.

It's worth what somebody is willing to pay...
I got mine for $900 from GB. Some deep gouges on the top strap and right side of frame but IT SHOOTS NIIIIICE! :)
I just got it this Saturday and I put 200 rounds through it over the weekend: 100 of Remington UMC (chrono'd to be about 1100 fps)...
Ssssshhhh!!
Someone's taking a dirt nap!
I have shot more game with my 34-1 than any other rimfire handgun I own... mostly because it seems to be carried more :)
Off of my knees with two hands, it can shoot 1" groups with measly Thunderbolts at 10 yards.
pic?
Have you got a pic of that sir?
Are we talking 1/16" or <1/32" of gap? :)
I could live with 1/32" but 1/16" would look like too much metal showing...
PM's sent!
I'll take a shiny black #3R (K-frame round butt) and a shiny black #1.
If you don't have any more shiny black, I'll take matte black instead.
Picture this...
I just lucked out on a Model 547.
I plan to put on a shiny set of Tyler T-grips and vintage factory black plastic grips from a 1904 Hand ejector :)
I've learned not to like varnished wood grips this summer. I've been in the woods A LOT these days and have been using a liberal...
