Got my gun back today!!! They replaced the stryker and rear cover plate. Even returned it to me with a free extra 6 round magazine too. Another trip to the range before I call it EDC worthy but glad I waited to get it checked right. Can't be too careful if your life might depend on it. Thanks...
Thanks everyone. Since I already had the shipping label I decided to go ahead and send it to them just for comfort measures. I waited about 6 months for this gun to come I can wait a few more weeks to make sure it right. Probably overkill but it will make me feel better about carrying it. Thanks...
Thanks for all the advice. I think I'll just keep it for now and probably add a NDZ slide plate just because. I was actually relieved that the problem was so simple once I found it. When I noticed it hadn't completely closed my heart dropped. In the 5 seconds it took me to figure it out I was...
I had used about 10 rounds of PMC that were left over from another range visit. I then used Winchester white box until the issue. After that I used some Blazer Brass and about 15 Federal HSTs. No other issues with any other ammo or any other slide cover issues. Wanted to try several different...
I picked up my new Shield .40 yesterday and headed to the range today. About 70-75 rounds into my day I noticed the slide didn't close completely after a shot. I took me a few seconds to realize the rear slide cover had came loose and slid down. It was keeping the slide from completely closing...
Used in very good condition UTG carbine length aluminum quad rails with protective ladders. One set has black covers, one has Magpul Foliage Green. Also have one light mount. The black set came off my fathers AR. The green was on mine. Decided to go with standard grips, as we never planned on...
I guess I'll give them a call Monday morning. I'm trying to be patient but I think that 7 weeks is way too long. Makes me wonder how long it will take them to actually fix it. I actually wanted to just try a new roll pin and guide rod without shipping it in but all they responded with was I...
I contacted S&W on July 20th about a few issues with my Shield .40. The roll pin below the takedown lever begins to work out after only 1-2 magazines. I felt okay with fixing that myself. After my last range visit I noticed there was a drag in the guide rod when working the action. It's hard to...
I used the flat screw driver on my knife at the range to push it level with the frame. The last 30 rounds, when it came out I brought it home and used a screw driver again. It just pushes in easily, can't do it by hand but easily with something flat.
After only 20 rounds down the barrel today the pin in front of the takedown lever worked it's way out. I noticed it and pushed it back in. 30 rounds later and it was out again. Anyone know the official name for this part so I can contact S&W. Hopefully they will send me one, I don't know why it...
Lanbos Armory has them in stock, too. I've bought from him in the past. His customer service is excellent and his prices are always very competitive. Ships quick and seems to run a sale every 4-6 weeks.
