I had the same rifle. Repaired a lot of stuff on over the years, 40+ years. I sold it to a a friend of mine a couple of years ago. It still had the magazine and plastic cover on it.

I don't see the Kmk-4 as often as I do the Kmk-6, but with the box that's a pretty good price. I hope you went back and bought it.

I think there's hollow points in mine, but I'd be comfortable with target loads.

Most of them stayed locked up, but I took the youngest one, named 637 to work with me.

That looks like a twin to the one I picked up recently and I really like shooting it. Mine is about 4000 #s earlier, the stocks number to it, and came with an older Colorado Saddlery basket weave holster. I had a 18-? at one time, let it go and later regretted it.

From what I can see in the pic, I'd pass on it. The grips, rust on side plate as Hapworth stated. It looks to have a spot on the barrel also. The other could look worse.

I'd clean, oil, and shoot it.

There is polish and buff, and grind and shine. There is a difference.

Looks like 32 to me. Given that the sn on butt and cylinder matches, I would venture to say it's a factory conversion. I am far from an expert and could very well be wrong.

And the local Michigan fans absolutely detested him.
