I have a model 36 ser.#AAY0xxx which dates I believe to late 1982 or early 1983. The trigger is serrated, and I was wondering when S&W stopped using this trigger on the model 36. I must say, its an incredibly accurate little gun.

I've probably carried the 642 the most out of these four, but lately I've been carrying the 36 quite a bit. I find that I shoot the 36 slightly better and truly like the feel of steel. As far as concealability and comfort, its not much of an issue as I usually carry IWB...not much of a difference.

Picked up a 2" model 36, round butt. A flat black #1 tgrip would be perfect. New or used in good condition would be fine.

I just picked up a 2" model 36, (ser#AAY0XXX) which I was told was manufactured in 1982 or 1983. Since its not +P rated, I am looking for a self defense ammunition recommendation. I was thinking that the Gold Dot 125gr GDHP (non +P) may be the right choice. Thanks for any other suggestions...

Stopped by a local shop today and they had a minty 10-8, 3" round butt...with the tag price of $349. I could probably get $25 or so knocked off the price. Don't really need another model 10, but she was a 3" and so pretty. What do you think?

Yeah...I have two marks on the inside of the rear area of the trigger guard of my 642-1. It fires perfectly and I'd never send it back to S&W for repairs...any repairs! It's 642-1, which means no lock...if S&W has any problem fixing the gun for whatever reason, whether cosmetic or function...
