The mag release gets rusted on the inside. I figured it was from sweat. The second time it got rusty after I installed the new release was bad enough that it wouldn't budge. I had to free it up with a hammer and barrel pin punch. I coated it with gun grease and started carrying back up.

Has anyone had any problems with mag release? I carried my M&P Shield in a kydex holster on my hip with an iwb holster of course and my mag release rusted up has anyone had this issue. I called Smith and Wesson and they sent me a new mag release, I installed it of course and it rusted up as well.

The trigger on the shield has a short reset. Very pleased with performance.

I am a fan of eotech. Not cheap, but makes the scary looking piece even scarier.

I am going to try a few rounds before I make a decision. I am still carrying hydroshock rounds in my M&P SHIELD 9. My son is a police officer and they carry the M&P 9. But the dept. switched to a different round. Was just curious what the scuttlebutt was on the Liberty civil defense round...

I can't say if the ballistics were inflated but on the you tube video the round was chono at 2191 fps if the video is authentic.The round is supposed to not have any lead and is supposed to fragment like the RIP defense round. Take a look at the video and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Has anyone heard anything about the Liberty civil defense ammo? I picked up a box of 50 gr. hollow points rated for 2000 fps. There is a you tube video about them and they were wicked in ballistics gel but was curious about practical use. Any ideas about those rounds?

I bought the 9. I liked the feel and my son wanted the 40 so I got it for him as an early Christmas present. We went hunting yesterday and today. I put 100 rounds through my 9 with no problems but my son had 2 FTE's in 50 rounds. I think he needs to break it in a little more.

I have tried the granulated grips on my other pistols but I tend to like the rubber talon grips a little better.

I field strip all of my weapons the same. Especially my carry piece. But on the average once a month. Even my long guns.

I just bought one. I sold my Nano and bought the Shield. Too many FTE's with the Nano. I haven't fired the Shield yet. but am going to on my next day off. I will let you know how it performs.
