    Rust removal

Thank y'all for the info. FWIW In my quest for the ultimate rust fighting process, I googled LSA, per gjamison's reply and found the following link. Looks like this fella did some serious testing. Y'all may have seen it before but I'm impressed. The Gun Zone -- Corrosion Test I hope this...

    Rust removal

Thanx for the reply daa9mm. I've read about Kroil and it sounds good however I don't have any. Seems to me Liquid Wrench, which I do have, would do the job on rust but will it harm the bluing. I've read that it won't hurt the blue but I don't know how expert the author is.

    Rust removal

I assume this is the correct forum. This has probably been asked before but, is Liquid Wrench safe to use to remove rust from a blued gun. I read about it recently also saying to use with bronze wool. Any expert advice would be appreciated. Regards; Ben

    S&W Hand Ejector 3rd edition, model 1926

Thanks for the reply Dick. After having this pistol for 40+ years, as the statement goes "the only way they'll get this gun is to take it out of my cold, dead hands" or get it at my estate sale. I will, however, try to find some original grips. I never had any idea they weren't the factory...

    S&W Hand Ejector 3rd edition, model 1926

OFT II, no problem. Same logic applies. Between Jul 28 and Mar 29, approx 110 3rd models per month were shipped. Well theoretically at least. I've read that the s/n sequence produced by S&W was divided between 2nd models and 3rd models, I assume in no particular order. This being said, I...

    S&W Hand Ejector 3rd edition, model 1926

Thanks OFT II, that narrows it down pretty good. Per SaxonPig, s/n 318xx shipped Jul 28 and yours shipped Mar 29, I would guess mine shipped Dec 28/Jan 29. I assume most all 3rd models shipped to W&K in this timeframe so it seems I don't need a paper after all. Regards; Ben

    S&W Hand Ejector 3rd edition, model 1926

Thanks for the reply David. I have had the gun since 1968 and I know that it hasn't been refinished or had new grips in that time. Yes, I do shoot the gun. I've put bout 500 rounds thru in the last 40 years, mostly "Cowboy" rounds. It shoots real good. I also inherited some old .44 ammo...

    Streichers Ammo

I've bought several boxes from Streichers/Policehq.com recently. 9mm 2ea, Speer Gold Dot LE and Federal Hydra Shok LE. They've been in stock and shipped quickly.

Seems it worked. Here's a pic of the right side. As y'all can tell, the finish is not great. Any suggestions on how to make it look mo' betta ? Regards; Ben

Sorry Fellars, having problems posting pictures. Having a senior moment, week, month. Trying to network between puters and I don't know photobucket. Seems like it would be easier to copy/paste. I'll try later. Ben

    S&W Hand Ejector 3rd edition, model 1926

Per Bubbajoe's reply, I was looking at the wrong numbers. On the back of the cylinder and under the barrel, the s/n is 321XX, No "S". When the cylinder is open, on the body, "easiest seen" is the number I initially sent, # 64619. I will try to send some pics tomorrow, per Murphydog's link...
