I also have one of the 5" 627-2's. Mine has an unfluted cylinder and the product code is 148218. I bought mine a few years ago NIB from a collector that was selling off his collection. I had also heard that it was part of a small run that S&W made from spare parts. It's a great looking gun.

The 5" is my favorite N frame barrel length. I have 2 629's and 2 627's in that length. The look and the balance is perfect.

Those are beautiful grips. Can you tell us what kind they are and where they can be purchased? Thanks.

I have a 6.5 inch Classic DX that I purchased new sometime in 2001. It came with a test target in the case. The distance was 25 yds. and the group size was .7 inches. I have a few other 629's that I shoot, so this one has remained unfired for now.
