    Best rubber grip for 28-2

Most rubber grips enlarge the length of pull due to finger grooves or covering the backstrap. I have had the best luck with the Pach Gripper Pro or Presentation models. I HATE the Hogue finger groove designs; fingers in all the wrong places. However this is certainly a matter of opinion. Happy...

    Tough Decision

I would have definitely bought both guns (blinded by the price) and then kicked myself in the foot for buying the 19 when I got home and realized the cant. Nice sniff out, and even better buy. Shoot, clean, repeat. B

    BOUGHT A MODEL 36 TODAY

I think you did just fine. Pics can be a little deceiving, but i think 90% is a fair evaluation. With original numbered diamond stocks and a flat latch, 500 shipped and transferred isn't bad. That gun is made to carry in a pancake thumb break. Good find and let her ride! B

    Smith 27-2 3.5"?

I agree with BAM BAM. The 27 was worth 725 is anything better than 80-85% condition depending on your neck of the woods. It's hard to touch 3.5" 27s for less than 1k these days... on the other hand, the 66 is a much more carryable gun, and the 2.5" is one sweet looking Smith. These are my two...

    27-2 Serial #s

Your serial will start with an N followed by six numbers. Nice find 4" 27-2s were only made for a few years unless special ordered, 79-82 I believe. If you post your serial with x's as the last 2 digits, someone can nail down a year for you (ex.N7710xx)Post those pics! We love N frames around here!

    newbie needs help i.d. ing

Someday something like this will happen to me... great find OP, one of my favorite Smith configurations. Shoot it, then don't let it go!

    Nickle Victory Revolver

And that thread is high jacked lol. As it pertains to the OP's gun, it is most definitely a shortened and refinished Victory revolver. It is highly unlikely that this revolver was an originally 38 special chambered gun. Almost every "Victory cut down" I have seen was treated just like yours. Cut...

Grip recommendation for 4 inch model 19-3 for edc

The square butt counterpart to the Pach Compacts is the SB Pach Presentation grip. Rubber, covers backstrap, no finger grooves. However they suck for concealment, and are rather thick. Bear with me here, but maybe a set of VZ's? Have a set of the SB N frame grips in the 320S smooth pattern and...

The ultimate Model 19/66 Combat Magnum thread

My two K magnums. A 66 no dash snub with custom RB targets up front, 19-4 blued out back. The K frame magnum is in my opinion the perfectly designed handgun. Bill Jordan got this one right on the money.

    New to Me 29-2

Thanks gentlemen. I believe you are correct Tom that GA is a type of Rosewood, yet they are separate in this crazy wood world of factory stocks right? Appreciate the likes fellas.

    Fair trade for model 19

Top gun has a pinned barrel bottom does not. Also, if it is one gun, neither side has an emblem stamped on it. Cleary this is 2 differect guns pictured, one is pre1982 and one is not. I'd be wary based on that for sure. Do you know the offering party? Be cautious on that one...If it turns out to...
