This M36 has a serial number beginning with 2721xx. It is a 3" pinned model with a square butt. It has like new diamond stocks (numbered to the firearm) and a flat cylinder release button. I would say the revolver is probably 90% or better with just a small amount of holster wear on each side of the muzzle. The revolver came with no box or paperwork. I have attached a pair of photos for your consideration. Give me a ballpark value and your opinion of the revolvers. Thanks.

Congrats on a great J frame. Several members here like them a good bit and carry them IWB a good bit.

For price...not real sure but around $450.

I bought this revolver for $500 shipped. This will be an occasional shooter for me. My favorite revolvers to shoot are my M29s and M57s. There is something magical about shooting a big bore revolver. It starts with that 36" long flame that blows out during each shot. It tends to clear the firing line of faint hearted shooters.

I think you did just fine. Pics can be a little deceiving, but i think 90% is a fair evaluation. With original numbered diamond stocks and a flat latch, 500 shipped and transferred isn't bad. That gun is made to carry in a pancake thumb break. Good find and let her ride!

Throw a tyler-t-grip, some ren wax and it looks like it would be 96 % gun in a hurry, nice 36 ya got there.

This is one of two M36s I have acquired in the past couple of weeks. The other M36 has a serial number that starts with 475xx, so it is also from the 60s. The other M36 is in slightly better condition than the one shown. It was $450 shipped. I am not a big M36 fan, they just spoke to me when I saw them on line. If you have never had that urge, you are not serious about collecting firearms. I sure wish they would invent a pill that would cure that.

I have been married for 34 years. My wife comes from a firearms friendly family. Her Dad was an avid bird hunter. He loved to hunt most anything that flew. We hunted together for 31 seasons prior to his death a few years ago.

Most guys have to sneak around and lie to their wives. My wife is more like "have you bought anything new lately". If so, can I see it?

Before you ask, yes my wife has a sister. Her sister is red headed an a total control freak. She and her husband live in San Diego [thank god] so we see her maybe every 10 years. Her poor husband is so hen pecked I feel sorry for him. He was a Navy Submariner at one time, go figure.

Great gun and about what you'd pay here in the northeast. If you like to clear the firing line with a flame, try a Model 53! It not only will clear the line, but , will start a grass fire in front of it.
