Yes, 1989. With the unfluted cylinder and barrel underlug, mine compares very closely in weight to a 4" 29-2. Had mine Mag-na-ported and I believe they worked over the trigger, which is super smooth. I believe these 29-4s have a 0.4" wide serrated trigger- I much prefer this to the 0.5" target...

The SA Commemorative has the same configuration, but is not marked a Mtn Gun. You got a great deal!
