review - Kelly Arms Boot Grips for pocket carry

-db- I agree 100% about the finish being very important. After experiencing the same thing with my new to me 65-5 Ladysmith, I did the same thing to the stocks. I also sanded them some to reduce the overall size to better fit my hand. I used wood conditioner and 3 coats of stain, no finish or...

A good price for 629-4 Mountain Gun

Mine has the MIM stuff and no pin on the hammer. I gladly paid $600 for mine last year. Shipping etc.. it totaled around $640. Still gladly paid it. IMO it boils down to what each gun is worth to you, at that time. Would someone else have paid the same? Maybe, maybe not...

Ideal field gun for National Park carry?

My 629 Mountain Gun in a Simply Rugged Sourdough packed with 305grn Buffalo Bore hardcasts is on my backpack(hipbelt) when I bowhunt here in Washington. More than enough for the most likely problem(humans) and the least likely(black bear). Actually cougar would be the least likely, and my setup...

    >41 Mag mountain gun- good deal?

I do not handload, yet. But I plan to get started soon. My choices for calibers are .41 mag, .44mag, and .45 colt. All of which are (relatively speaking) somewhat expensive to shoot regularly. My reason for these 3 calibers being black bear encounters(had a couple of them) and big cougars. I...

    >41 Mag mountain gun- good deal?

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to see if the .41 mag is still on the table this weekend. I was just trying to resist making a purchase that I might regret(I have been known to make big purchases based on impulse not knowledge before). It is obvious that I should have listened to my...

    >41 Mag mountain gun- good deal?

Well, I didi nit get the gun. Even though it was a good deal, I decided to wait on a purchase until I can find exactly what I need. Thinking a .41 or .45 colt mtn. gun (cats, black bear, meth cookers, pot growers will be my on-trail concerns). Until I can recognize functional flaws in a used...

    >41 Mag mountain gun- good deal?

I am new to the forum and handguns, and want a Mtn. Gun for trail use and home defense. I just ran across a Stainless Steel .41 mag mtn. gun in very good condition for $525. Is this as good of a deal as I think? Thanks in advance.
