Bob, Thanks for the numbers, was all the ammo available from the LGS?

About half the shops around here have the ammo now. Until recently the only one was the one that originally ordered it for me.

"Free S&W 632", sort of!!!!

Wed. night is all the shooting TV shows on the outdoor chanel. If you go to the:

Shooting USA Shooting Sports Television

they are giving away a S&W 632 and a case of Federal .327 mag. ammo, "Sweet"
for qnswering a question about something covered on the show.

I have never won a gun, but this shooting USA show gives away a S&W gun each month and it is a S&W new product each month.
But, what the hell, it's worth a try!!!!!

How do you like those grips, they seem overly long for the frame??

I like the feel and control better than the looks. If I was going to carry it concealed I might try something shorter but the way I use it they are good.

I wouldn't mind having a nice set of combat style wood grips but I'm not sure how they would go with the flat finish.

Well, after a long wait I see that Buds gun shop has the 632 in stock. I am going to call them and buy it. They show 685 cash, has anyone seen them cheaper??

My local dealer has one in stock for about 3 weeks, was still there yesterday. $799.00

I finally found one! Dealer should have it by the 19th. Paid $739. Hopefully they'll have some ammo as well and I don't expect it to be inexpensive - imagine that!!

Here's a couple of pics of one of these elusive devils that I was able to snare :

I just got home from Iraq this last Wednesday. I snuck off to the gun shop today and lo and behold they had a 632!! Fondled it quite a bit, but Bud's sells the same model for $200 less.
Then I asked about ammo, all I heard was silence. Then the salesman attitude brightened up and then told me "We have some of the 32 H&R ammo, you can use it instead." I almost laughed out loud!! I have at least 10 revolvers in 32 Mag and wanted to get a 327. So who has the ammo??

My local pusher has had one for a while. I'm sorry - it's a J-frame - $749 + s/t seems a tad high. I had both a Ruger 4.6" SSM and a 4" SP101 in .32 H&RM for a couple of years - fun, but beset with QC issues - both with oversized chambers - overworked the brass - I got 1-3 reloads before it would split. The reloading components got hard to find - and as pricey as the .38s - I said goodbye to the .32s and went back to .38 plinkers... with real sights! The .32s were fun... for a while. My 115gr LRNFP loads didn't reliably drop the rebounding steel plates, either - any of my .38s, 125gr - 158gr, would drop them 100%.

I guess the real deal killer for me with the 632 is the porting. Taurus ports everything - probably would port a slingshot. I hate porting. Oh, sure, the comp on my 5" JM PC627 V-Comp makes it look 'cool' - even if it isn't needed - and is something else to clean. Of course, I can put the blank cover on that PC627 - the 632 is fixed.

Saw a carry comp and a Stainless version at West Coast Armory in Issaquah,Wa yesterday. Intriguing little guns.....
As I recall the carry comp was just under $800 and the stainless was in the low $700's
