I have always been a fan of Pachmayr grips on handguns. I found this set of Tacstar grips (which is a sister company of Pachmayr) for about $34 for both front and rear grips. They feel great and you can position the front where ever you like and fold it up.

I've used the Rit dye to color plastic parts on my 45 mph remote control 4wd truck. The dye actually goes in pretty good, small scratches won't show. You want the dye very hot, then let it soak until you get the desired color. Some of the blue parts in this pic were originally grey.
