How important is stagering your rounds. Is it only important in rapid firing or not in "normal" firing.

Your gun is going to eject the old round and chamber the new round at the same speed no matter how fast you pull the trigger. So not staggering your rounds should result in about the same number of misfeeds either way.

Im not sure if my mags are special or what, but I've never had to consciously & intentionally stagger the rounds as I load my mags.

As I load, the rounds self stagger in the mag.

Naw I've just never had any problems or paid any atention just loaded them and just made sure they were seated... Just wanted to avoid problems. Think I got a good one... Tks all.

If you don't keep the tension on the follower or try and load more than one round at a time about the only thing that will happen is you will only get 24 rounds in the big mags and you will get consecutive rounds on one side or the other instead of staggered. As far as I have found it will still function fine, it just won't have a full 25 rounds in the mag.

I have never had problems with the staggering either. The mag keeps them in order, but you need to be sure that the rims are not overlapping. The top rounds rim needs to be in front of previous round. If not bolt has to drag the next round to go rim over the one below it. This can cause feeding problems.

As BuffaloLake mentioned, if your rds. are not staggered they will miss feed. The rule of thumb is, pull down on the load assist button just enough to allow the next rd. to be loaded, if you follow this rule you will never have any trouble with the stagger .
