    Is HP-38 really a duplicate of W231?

Few pictures of the same lot number from Winchester and Hodgdon. How to read the lot number. First number is the weight of the container it's sold in. Next six numbers is the date the powder was made. Last four is the lot number. 1 - 1lb bottle 07 - Month of July 16 - Day 14 - Year 2014...

    Is HP-38 really a duplicate of W231?

Not according to Hodgdon. I asked the same question and Hodgdon explained to me, they come from the same hopper. How can they be different. Only difference is from lot to lot.

    Seating die deforming WC

These M-Die powder funnels will work in a Dillon powder funnel. I use them and would recommend them to anybody. I have three (3) of them and they work rather well. The gent that machines them and sells them on ebay. Is a straight up guy. The fit and finish of these powder funnel will meet your...

    New to reloading

I agree...wooow. 200 to 300 rounds is allot. People just don't understand things can go wrong real fast when it come to reloading. Inspecting each and every cartridge case to insure powder is "present"....is paramount (high priority). Not checking you're cartridge cases is something that...

    Turret Presses

Either way will work. I do both methods. You can ask 10 reloaders and everyone will have a different method. I have a Redding T-7 Turret Press and use it allot to do load development. Also, I have a Dillon RL550B progressive press for large run of batches and sometimes I get "bored" running my...

    Shooting .44Mag/.44Sol In Same Gun??

I agree about it's time for an ol' Lewis Lead Remover. There not cheap, but in my opinion, worth every penny. They will clean both the barrel and the cylinder chambers. Buy one kit and it will do 9mm, 38 Special and 357 Magnum. Buy one kit and it will do the 45acp, 44 Special and 44 Magnum...

    Shooting .44Mag/.44Sol In Same Gun??

I really like the concept but I'm not sure many would buy into it. Most would shun away when seeing a tool being inserted into the cylinder chamber. Seeing or experiencing it first hand and having used it several times over. It works really well at removing the crud ring from the cylinder. I'm...

    Shooting .44Mag/.44Sol In Same Gun??

Not any dirtier than the rest of the powders being produced. The key is, put enough powder in the cartridge case to seal the casing in the chamber. Blow-by will really make the casings dirty if the cartridge case does not seal in the chamber. As a side note, I like W231/HP38. I have 3 jugs of...

    Shooting .44Mag/.44Sol In Same Gun??

There is no powder that won't burn clean to stop foaling. Every powder that is made will cause fouling in the cylinder chamber of your revolver. Look at the face of the cylinder that faces the forcing cone, only after a few shots, it's dirty and the same will happen inside of the chamber...

    Your choice for coated bullets?

Are you using a properly sized coated bullet? My chronograph has always given me a higher velocity using powder coated bullets. Even Hi-Tek(polymer) yields a higher velocity than lubed bullets.

    Your choice for coated bullets?

I like using automotive powder coat that I buy from the Eastwood company. They are having a sale as of right now. When using the powder coating process, you don't need BB's to get the powder coat to stick to the lead. All I use is a #5 bowl. I usually save all of my wife's butter bowls when we...
