I installed the carry kit in my Shield and it's a much cleaner trigger pull. I have installed Apex's triggers in my M&Ps and I like the feel of the flat faced trigger better than the factory trigger. I believe I'm going to leave the factory trigger in my Shield. Because of the smaller frame...
I contacted Apex to see if they could help me. Here is what I learned. It may help someone else.
All .45 models are all Thumb Safe Compatible/Active versions of the Sear Housing Block.
All Sear Housing Blocks are either Internal Locking System Compatible/Active or Thumb Safe...
That's were the confusion comes in. G&R shows it like that but Midway and Brownells seem to distinguish between the two. Further confusion comes about as to why Apex has different sears between the .45 and other models.
I've got a few M&Ps and recently purchased a few new sear block housings for my 9mm and 40s to use the larger plunger. To my surprise my 9mm Pro had the 1/8 plunger. I installed the Apex forward sear and trigger kit in it and can't wait to try it out.

On the prospect of shooting this gun, my Dad said he hasn't used it since I gave him a model...
I hear you. Are there any products that you could recommend to take care of protecting the finish and help dissolve some surface rust? The barrel is obviously dirty and needs a swabbing.
I pulled the grips off and can't see any serial numbers on them. I would imagine my grandfather came upon this second hand because in 1909 he would have been in his teens.
I asked my Dad about it and he said he doesn't ever recall his father having a side arm in the field and doesn't...
