Texas DPS ditches M&P and returns to SIG

Knowing the problems with the pistols how many of you would want your son or daughter going in harms way with one? Also why are some of you asking "how many defects" have been found? One is to darn many for the police! The pistol is the most important tool in an officers trade, don't you...

    Unusual 9mm malfunction

On my screen the case on the right seems to have a slight "Roll" crimp! The case on the left appears to have been a "Raw" case that was not trimed, anyone can see that the case neck is jaged with a slight "Step" in it.

Concern on buying on line, a LOT!

Thanks to everyone for there input. A lot was just common sense, but there was a lot of things I didn't know or realize. I'm still extremely leary of dealing on line and expect I will probably stay that way, however these days it's hard to even find used revolvers in a local gun store. I...

Concern on buying on line, a LOT!

Hello to all. There are some revolvers I am interested in on line but squemish to say the least about pulling the trigger relative to buying. I need some educated buyers to give me some directions on how does one know or protect themselves when doing revolver transactions? Just...

I have been considering getting a 686 for shooting and investment and would like to know what - number is considered the best before locks? Also along these same lines, can someone tell me the empty weight of the regular 686 with 4" barrel ? --------------------------- 629-4 DX, this is...

I'm New and confused on "Pre" date revolvers.

Hi to all. I'm trying to learn. Examples model 29 or 27 : When someone says this revolver is a pre 27 or 29 it confuses me, how does one know it is as it says? How do you tell if it is a "Pre" whatever and what does that mean to the price? A picture would be really helpfull...

    Model 29 Classic Question.

Did S&W ever have a 4" model 29 classic with full underlug? I'm aware that there is a 5" model (with full underlug) but was just wondering so to speak. Thanks, Changeling.

    M&P 9mm Speed loader suggestions ???

The uplula sounds like a really great loading tool. I have a Belgium made Browning High Power that is difficult to load . This thread was interesting, however in my way of thinking there price of over $30.00 is somewhat rediculious for a product in this type of catogery. It's an injectied...

    S&W 624vs 629 build?

No it's not confusing at all Eaglestroker you simply stated the models you have and what has shot mot accurately for you. You mention the 696 and 629-6 as being "lights out for me", I take it this means they shoot very well for you. What is the barrel length on your 696? What were the...

    S&W 624vs 629 build?

Thanks for the information. I didn't know these 2 models had .433 or larger cylinder throats. I already have expensive molds and die set for the the .44 and don't want to have multiple sets because a manufacture can't drill 6 holes correctly! It was enough trouble finding a Ruger BH (.45...

    S&W 624vs 629 build?

I was hoping to see a lot more commentary on accuracy between the two, witch (-) models were the best for hand gun quality, accuracy potential between the two, etc,. I appreciate Nemo288 and poordevil replies very much. I was hoping for more input on the subject. Is there another forum...
