I haven't carried an owb holster before. But I have tried an iwb bravo concealment holster and it was pretty nice. You mentioned EDC as in conceal? Maybe worth a try for a cost that won't break the bank.

Have same issue. They get a bit easier but there is nearly no way in slamming magazine home with slide closed.
